Me again

I really want to get my relationship right with God but feel I need support of a Church, I have visited a few over the years but have only found one I feel I would like to attend regulary.

Where I live (Ireland) "new " Churches like Pentecostal where always looked on as being wrong , a lot of peole still feel like this.

You went to Church, sang old hymms, prayed from a book, lis
ened to sermon, prayed some more and went home. You where Baptised when a baby , got married in Church and when you died a minister conducted your funeral service.

This is not me, I enjoy Pentecostal Church and have went on and off to it for years but never acually " belonged " to a Church just go a a visitor.

Now I feel it is time to get my relationship with God back on track but feel I need to belong to a Church, problem is the Church I would like to belong to believe in Water Baptism, this is a problem for me I have a fear of my face going under water. I am notsure if it is also something to do wih my upbinging that this was never hard off.

I was thinking about it last night and feel it would make my relationship with God so complete BUT just not sure if I could do it.

I suppose the option is to find another Church but this is the one that I really think I want to belong to .

I suggest you talk with them about your fear of water. They may be able to work with you on it.

Water baptism is the way Christ was baptised and the Lord would be with you in this act. Anytime your considering a church, its very important you consult God on the matter. You can do it friend!

Honestly, the best way to renew your relationship with God, is to get down on your knees and talk to Him. Give Him your worship and praise, and He'll bless you beyond understanding

God bless you

Wondering Star,

I would take it one step at a time. It's a blessing that you found a church where you feel at home. Why not go, and put the Baptism problem off a while? God can deal with that, one way or another. As you say, you will be strengthened in the right group of believers, and maybe God has a healing in store for you. Trust Him, and take one step of obedience at a time. He will make a way.

So far so good

Let me point out that the things you mix together suggest, not to worry about getting Baptized right away? Spend some time learning. G-d will see your sincere heart!

It appears that as you gain understanding, your fear will subside. Christianity has a way of helping us overcome our upbringing.

Btw I like Pentecostal worship too, but don't tell anyone
This is a very staid area where I live

thanks for your replies everyone.

I know I am rushing ahead but a number of years ago when I became Saved I attended Church for about 18 months on and off as I was trying to find the right one. Long story but I came away from the Christian way of living, stopped praying and reading the Bible.

I am just frightened of finding the right Church, getting to know people then them saying " go away you cannot fulfill what I require for you to belong here "

thanks again for replies

Our greatest command is to love our Lord God with all of our being, that means Heart, Strength, Spirit, and Mind. To me is sounds as if this can only be done in a Pentecostal Church for you. IF your love is for God then go to the church where you can best serve Him. If your heart belong to what "others" think then go where they tell you to go.
