Year: 5th

Background: "Pure-blood" but he hates the term. He was born to a fairly well known family but they were too stuck up for him, offering them an ultimatum his family had little choice to do as he wished. He wished for them to share the house with a muggle family, they caved into his demands allowing that & soon they found muggles were really good people.

Eventually an owl came for him & they did everything they could for him.

Appearance: He is of average build with neck long brown hair (long enough for a two inch ponytail) & amber eyes. He is lightly tanned as well.

Personality: Grail is fairly outgoing once he gets into the flow of things & loves finding secrets & shortcuts. He is loyal beyond believe & is willing to jump in the way of anything for a friend's life.

Wand: His wand is oak with a werewolf hair core, for some reason no wand fitted him so they had to try him with custom wands.

House: Gyrffindor (sp?)

Other: Grail intends to try for the house quidditch team as a chaser or keeper this year, he also draws sketches & cartoons then gives them life by magic (same as the photos)

Grail looks up from his food around the hall, catching Hadgrid's eye he grinned. He was really looking forwards to the lessons with him this year, turning he looked over the other houses. He smiled at any of his house that met his eye, he glared at slytherin (sp?) ((sorry really off today ^^)) but his gaze softened as his eyes passed over his friend's from his first year & they all nodded at him.

Smiling he turned the other way looking at Hugglepuff first, soemone glared at him & he just smiled back then his friend's face broke into a smile. Looking towards Ravenclaw his eyes linger on the two people currently talking. Odd, he thought, rarely do the years mix this early on then again who am I to talk... Laughing he turned back to his own house, pushing his mate next to him. "Stop hogging my butterbeer you!"

Saving his butterbeer from his friend he took a swig then passed it down the table again, smiling he looked at all the teachers then waited for the next important thing to be said.

Grail gets up knowing he can get away with it & walks over to the two talking Ravenclaw's, smiling at the teachers, he recieves a nod from his head of house. Summoning a stool from the side of the hall Grail sits down next to them.

"Evening I'm Grail, pleased to meet you both." Turning to the girl he continues. "I must of missed you around & don't worry you won't get in trouble. I'm always doing stuff like this, breaking boundaries between the houses & the teachers let me." He smiles then waits for them to speak.

Grail gets up knowing he can get away with it & walks over to the two talking Ravenclaw's, smiling at the teachers, he recieves a nod from his head of house. Summoning a stool from the side of the hall Grail sits down next to them.

"Evening I'm Grail, pleased to meet you both." Turning to the girl he continues. "I must of missed you around & don't worry you won't get in trouble. I'm always doing stuff like this, breaking boundaries between the houses & the teachers let me." He smiles then waits for them to speak.

"How can I be worried when you look so confident?" She said smiling. "It's good to meet you Grail. I'm Elizabeth and this here first year is William. Oh, I'm a fourth year if you care to know and I'm just guessing, but you seem to know what you're doing with charms," she said, grinning, pointing to the summoned stool, "so I'm assuming that you are either a fifth or sixth year. Anyway, what brings you all the way over here to the Ravenclaw table?" She smiled a huge smile at the young man, thinking, this first day just keeps getting better and better! I have a feeling that this is going to be a great year at Hogwarts!

Grail grins. "Don't you know? I always do things like this by going around the hall and making some friends during the 1st day back. You guessed right with my year by the way. I came other here because my house is being boring at the minute."

Pausing he summoned his butterbeer and offered it to the others.

the girl on the other side of the table was looking at the 3 a little bit scared. She had never seen a stoll flying across a room....but it seemed to be quite normal for everyone else here.....

Grail smiles at the girl. "Don't worry you get used to it." Flicking his wand he summons another butterbeer and offers it to the girl. "You want a butterbeer?"

He watched in awe as an older boy summoned(Sp?) a chair, which came flying over to their table. He quietly watch the Elizabeth and Grail talk, but did not speak cause he was too scared. When he saw the butterbeer wonder what it tasted like. Maybe it tastes like butterscotch(sp? ugg i suck at spelling), he thought.

"Thanks for the butterbeer. So, what do you expect will happen this year? Anything exciting? Hmm, what are some of the upcoming events? Oh, I'm sorry for the sudden rush of questions, I'm just looking forward to the new year...new friends." She grinned at the other three and went ahead drinking her butterbeer when she noticed that William wasn't drinking his. "What's wrong William, don't you like butterbeer?" She asked, giving him a curious look.

Grail grins. "Well we've got that ball, the quidditch & it's looking good this year.. I look set to get on the quidditch team as well & I've got someplaces to go in through out term. Tell you what why don't I show you the hidden passage behind my house and yours later you lot." Turning he looks at William.

"Come on mate it's not that bad just try it."

William grab the mug and took a sip. It wasn't as bad as he though it would taste.

"It's ok..."

He listen to Grail talk about something called quidditch and secret passage ways...

"What's Qudditch?"

Grail suddenly freezes dropping his butterbeer, it smashes on the floor. He turns to William, then flicks his wand at what remains of his drink & catches the repaired drink. "It's just the greatest game ever, it's played on brooms, with three enchanted balls & one normal ball. You have seekers who try to catch the smallest ball, the chasers who try to score with the normal ball.... You know I can't really explain it." Grail pushes flicking his wand at the paper next to his seat at his house table, as it lands on William's lap he continues.

"Look at the article on the front cover it's about quidditch." Grail goes to drink his butterbeer but decides against it, vapourising the bottle he reaches into his robes and pulls out some muggle chewing gum.

The noise in the hall began to die down as the students slowly realized that their Headmaster was waiting for their attention.

"What a wonderful feast! I just have a few announcements before we return to our common rooms." Dumbledore said, smiling down at the students. "You will recieve your schedules tommorrow morning at breakfast. Also, I'd like to introduce your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Mavis Zaerr."

An old and somewhat short man who had bald spots jumping out of his messy brown hair stood up two seats from Dumbledore. He smiled a yellow grin at the students. "I'm eager to teach you all." Zaerr said, trying to sound happy though it came off as overenthusiastic. But he did look truly eager to start the new school year. Dubledore smiled at the shy man, giving him a look saying that no more needed to be said.

"Now," said Dumbledore, "off to the common rooms! First years, please follow your prefects and prefects, make sure that no first years wander off." Dumbledore looked over the top of his half-moon spectacles with a challenging look. The hall began to shuffle about as the students exited the hall.

Elizabeth was smiling while watching Grail try to explain quidditch to William. She noticed that Dumbledore was trying to make an announcement:

After the announcement, she turned to the other three. "I guess we should head to our common rooms. It was nice meeting you, Grail," she said, shaking his hand, "I hope that we can continue this little chat between the four of us really soon. I'm glad that I'm meeting new friends this year." She smiled and stood up from the table, waiting for the others to join her. This year is going to be great!

Grail smiles to the others. "Oh you'll see me very soon." He heads towards his common room with the rest of his house. I recognise that teacher from somewhere now where is it?
