  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was asking if you guys "can" drive manually!!? I was in Atlanta a couple of years back and all cars (nearly) are automatic and most peeps don't know how to drive a manual!!! That is funny to me, because in England you gotta drive manual really, there are some exceptions to that, but normally you must be able to drive a manual!

I owned a Chevy S-10 for 3 years that was manual, but traded it for a Chevy Blazer that is automatic. After shifting gears for 3 years, you really appreciate an automatic.

If you are from England and driving in Atlanta, you must have really had an experience..having to get used to driving on the right side of the road, with steering columns on the left side, plus in Atlanta, they drive a minimum 85mph (what is the kilometers/per/hour equivalent?) on the interstate highways, if you go any slower you are liable to be hit from behind!

I have lived in Brazil and been on holiday to Spain quite a few times and I have driven in both places!!! So it is not really that strange. And they don't drive that fast! In England I have been doing around 80-85 and loads of car shoot past at plus 100mph. In Germany on some of their roads you can drive as fast as you want and they have fast cars!!!! In Sao Paulo, you are bumper to bumper at 85 mph!!! In Paris, people want to kill ya, just like London, eps the Cabs!!

Atlanta was actually nice to drive around! I like Barcelona to drive around too, and the views are amazing there!!!

Most vehicle models come with manual variants. I'd guess about 10-15% of US drivers use manual transmission. I prefer it because of the extra control it gives you over the vehicle (likewise I wish they'd give me oil pressure, coolant temp and not that stupid "check engine" light).

Yeh - I have just been checking the Ford website regarding the Mustang and most of them come with 6-speed transmission!!! I love the mustang, and for what they are, they are so cheap! For $18000 you would get a 2.0l car here, like mine. The Mustang has a 3.8l V6!!!!

You are asking the right guy then! I work alot on my Cobra tweaking it, modifying it and what not, and I also have '65 Mustang that my dad and I are restoring. Let me know what you need help on and I'll be more than happy to assist you. :)

1. Exhaust work. I think the setup on a 1998 3.8L is the headers, down through four cats (two on each side), then to a Y pipe, a muffler, then out the back. I've been posting about this on stangnet.com, and I'm thinking what I'll do is cut out the Y pipe, and just go with two mufflers/pipes out the back. That was my original question, but after enough research I've settled on that (duals), but if you have some input that'd be awesome.

2. Intake. I'm thinking either BBK or a Densecharger. I thought Densecharger gave a few more HP, but I heard they don't make the full kit anymore. Either way, I doubt there'll be a performance difference between the two, and the BBK is chrome :yum: .

the two items I have up in the air right now are the throttle body and a mass air meter.

I don't know if they make much of a difference or if they're worth the money, and I'm not exactly sure what the MAM does.

Down the road I'm thinking new gears and a t lok.

Any thoughts or advice you can give would be appreciated. And I'm fully aware that when Ford says the egine has 150hp (sigh), it's really only pushing about 120-127 at the wheels.

I currently own a manual. If I had a van, truck or SUV I'd probabaly go auto, but for cars, I don't see why anyone would want to drive an automatic. Personally, I just love the feeling of shifting gears.

I used to work for a valet company, and I swear at least 80% of the guys there couldn't drive stick. :( That was fine for me, because 9 times out 0f 10 I was the only guy there that could drive the sports cars.

5 spd=fun.

BTW: I won't be practicing on my car. It's a wimpy 4 cyl. Saturn. I prefer slow cars with standard transmission. I drive like a grandmother and it keeps me from tempting the police. :)

One of the things I love doing (that doesn't necessarily require others) is dance. I fully plan to continue my passion well into my old age (oh hush, I'm not that old yet! *slap*). Although I will not be able to pursue it as I have in the past, I will have to try different - more formal - ways of going about it now. I'm just at "that" age and I see nothing wrong with a little more structure in my life. ;)
