That's a bit harsh, don't you think? Careful about how you choose to address those with whom you disagree.

I agree that their attacks on Delirious are a bit harsh, but there is some substance to their concerns. Have you read their concerns? Is there anything in there that we should, as Christians, check out?

Rich Mullins openly denied the faith and openly attacked the gospel and its adherents during the last year of his life. Isn't that worth a look-see? Shouldn't we be concerned with what these "gods" of CCM are saying?

If you think that the attacks are not biblical, then make your case. Don't just slag off the site's authors as "idiots."

HAHAHAHAA! What a joke?!?! The couldn't even show or prove why these bands are "bad bands". Wow. I wonder what loser came up with that?
I pray so hard that those who would call themselves Christians would not be like that. Heaven forbid that we ever become so "holy" that we can't reach down and help out the sinner. ..Which is exactly what the website was telling ppl to do. "Stay clean! Save yourself! Don't touch the dirty sinners!" Oh my freakin gosh. That's lamer than lame. ...Can we get a prayer service going on for those ppl? That'd be good.

I'm sorry for laying into these writters harshly, but they don't have anything that's solid enough to use such harsh commentary on these bands. It's all opinion. It's the way they read into things. It's sad really. Just purely sad.

I'm inclined to agree with your sentiment, swingnscream. They have an article about "Musical Laws" and claim that these "laws" are from God. This always makes me suspect a secondary agenda (i.e. the false notion that the "music" is evil and corrupts, regardless of content etc.).

But I have taken the time to write to them and gave them a chance to clearly state where they stand on certain issues "biblically." (I'll report if they reply.)

Just as with people in these rooms who are less critical than I, I want to, at least try to, be fair with folks and hear them out. If they can't CLEARLY make their case from the Bible (which I don't think they can in every instance at their site), then they are wrong to be doing what they're doing.

My fear is, however, that the opposite is more often true. These guys attack via inuendo and supposition, but too many times, CLEARLY unbiblical doctrines spewed forth from certain CCMers are overlooked.

I'm just hoping to strike a balance... and in all things, do it in love.

nicely put bleechers. But someone who's that open and unforgiven at being a jerk, ...I won't give them the time of the day. I'm usually good at seeing both sides of the coin, and I understand their mindset [I've seen it before], but I also hate it. It just erks me to no end that these ppl didn't care to take the time to find out about these band memebers hearts and make a judgement off of that. Instead they search for any lil dropped crum that could be made into a felony of littering [so to speak]. .....No one deserves that.

I'd just like to throw out that first of all I've seen Delirious and Newsboys and Rebecca St. James in concert live and they lead some awsome worship. I'm sorry, this site is sadly mistaken.

To that I'd liek to add what the word of God has to say on the subject:

The Word makes it clear that we are to rejoice when the word of God is spread,no matter whether we agree with who is spreading it or why.It also talks about elsewhere(I'm too tired to look it up,I will later) that we are not to talk ill of others ministries.

Of course. Some of the stuff they say I won't really argue with. I don't think much of POD, but I guess I fail to see how you can really criticize a band that leads worship in their concerts.The majority of those songs are based on scripture.

ALL of that is opinion, they havent offered ANY examples. Evanescence ARE IN NO WAY a christian band. When they brought their first song out people were screaming "CHRISTIANS!" whilst God was convicting me about it. Eventually I felt so sick listening to it I went and looked up the rest of their lyrics: They speak about suicide being the only option and stuff. So I agree with the site on that.

The rest... what a load of opiniated c-r-a-p. Its pathetic that somebody made this site up. I guess the maker is about as spirit filled as an empty bottle of vodka. In one of third days tracks Mac Powell says "Sorry for those who came to hear a third day concert, because we're here to worship." That says it all. Third Day still do free high-school gigs every so often. How humble is that?

You're all right... the site is horribly done, full of error and conjecture... essentially its a bad joke. I must admit that I was disappointed. I'd like to see a kind, loving site that points out some of the error in CCM. But obviously, this ain't it!

the Cross Movement is a hip-hop/rap group, that is so in talking about God & Christ in basically all of their songs, that it's just amazing they can get that many JPMs in [JPM = Jesus per minute].

Well, this isn't the right room for this... but if pointing out where the RCC contardicts the gospel is "bashing," then we'd better rewrite the NT. Now, I did not see "how" they went about this (so they may have used conjecture, etc.), but if all they did was to note Rome's gospel, then on that point I'd have to agree.

After all, I love the Lord because of what He's fully finished on my behalf so I have little time for an organization that condemns the gospel of the free grace of God as often and as vehemently as Rome.

Are they Evangelical bashing in Vatican II? In Trent? In their catechisms?

Back to CCM... I have a CCM ministry with a heart for reaching RCs with the gospel. If that's "bashing," then so be it.
