Chloe Grace Moretz gives an amazing performance - as always - but even she cannot save a film that's so tonally uneven and ideologically questionable.
Kick-Ass 2 cannot decide whether it wants to approach its ultra-violence with humor and irony, or whether it wants to take the matter seriously. The result is a film (and a comic) that reads less like a self-aware deconstruction of the superhero myth, and more like a bona fide advertisement for bloody vengeance. If you don't mind, what ideological concerns are you referring to?
I loved the first film, and passionately hated the second installment (both in comic book and film format): KA2 is positively mean-spirited and unpleasant.

I think the best role I've seen her in so far was Let Me In (2010) - IMDbThe internet has been obsessed with chloe moretz since KA 1, she still hasn't found that role to launch her into the a-list, just a matter of time
I watched the first movie and LOVED it. BUt the bluray. WAtched it over and over and over. But had a life change and felt God was saying the movie was not useful in any way other then brainless filth.
So I didn't end up seeing the second one. Oddly enough even before my change I never showed anyone I knew the first movie because I felt guilty. As for Hitgirl. I did like the relationship dynamic with her father. And I did like the idea behind her... and the purple also lol. But when I seen the red band trailer for Kick*** 2 and I seen her swearing even more I really questioned it.
What does it teach kids? Kids have seen it after all. Its always appealing to them. I don't know, in the end I no longer support the movies. Now if they could tone it down I'd be more for it since the story is good.
