  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

'But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her there' - Hosea 2:14.

The voice of Satan is loud. He likes to shout. He likes to remind us of every mistake we've ever made. He likes to reflect on all the times we may have failed and hurt others. The father of Lies gets enjoyment out of those broken moments of despair.

But our merciful Father relentlessly pursues us. He chases after us with his unending grace, his relentless love, and he holds us. He leads us into the barren wilderness because only then will we come to realise just how much we need him. Only then will we realise how weak we are in our own futile strength, and how desperately we need the loving strength of a Saviour.

And he doesn't shout at us. He doesn't get angry with us for all those times we've messed up. In the stillness and quiet, we can hear the gentle whisper of the Father's voice as he tenderly calls our name. He pours out his abundant love over us and rather than remind us of all those times we've failed him, he instead reminds us of how much he loves and adores us.

'And I feel my heart as it stills, and I am content as I stare into the beauty of my Saviour's gaze, fixed on me.'

Thank you, Jesus:amen:

I love the book of Hosea. That is a beautiful verse you shared. The lovely words you shared about it are touching.
