Appearance: Hiruko has two very large, circular shaped shoulders with spike protrusions coming out. Hiruko's skin is dark blue, and a pale blue around his face and abdomen. Hiruko has two large plates that seperate, revealing insect-like wings that allow him to fly. These wings emit no sound, so even to Edward or others who have touched the notebook, he is silent while flying.
Personality: When he appears, Hiruko initially denies even being a shinigami, or owner of the notebook--however, upon further pressing by Edward, Hiruko eventually tells the truth. He tells Edward the rules of the "Wargame", and he tells Edward that the best way to win is to stay hidden. Edward wonders how he can win if he can't even find another Kira. Hiruko wonders if he should tell Edward about the Shinigami Eyes or not, and if that would provide more entertainment to him and the other shinigami.
