CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Whilst on the subject of berrating and rebuking people. I would just like to say one thing Jim. Some of your posts gainst Hillsong have been very harsh and badly worded. The words have hurt people badly. And, I believe this should be brought to your attention.
There have been times when I have been reading Hillsong threads quite happily, then one of your posts have come on and to be honest, I personally have felt like turning the computer off and turning my back on the Aussie forum.
It's all very well for you to rebuke someone, but Jim, you must stand for correction too.
I for one am definately against any prosperity gospel. And, certainly am not one to agree that credit cards be used to give to ANY church...i am not just talking Hillsong here IF they do that. And, I emphasise IF.
I take the bull by the horns Jim, and ask you to display LOVE in your posts to any Hillsong people.There are ways of addressing issues without slander and villification. There are ways of rebuking people without embarrassing and hurting as you ave done in many of your posts.
I now ask other members NOT to comment on this post.

We are all against the prosperity gospel. Doesn't mean that when people go to hillsong they follow it.
I personally don't mind icy going around talking about it. That's perfectly fine.

I don't understand why some of you are so against Hillsong Church. Is it because they are bigger than your church? I go to a small church with about 100 people and I love it to bits. I am also delighted that God is expanding my church. God is working with Hillsong, why are you so jealous he is also working with you and your church.

Not all of us who are 'wary' of hillsong, are jealous. I'm a bit wary, mainly because of all the prosperity doctrination going on there, and has nothing to do with jealousy.
Our church is great!
I like churches where I'm challenged to see if what they say is backed up in the Bible, so churches like Hillsong, where this practice is not verbally encouraged, and a repetitiveness of 'nice' sermons happens, don't interest me.
