  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hillary wears too many pant suits. That aside, is it fit and proper for a woman who hangs with a known adulterer to even be considered for president?

Bill spent more time philandering than he did governing the nation IMO. So elect Hillary and bring Bubba back and his fornication to the spotlight. Also Hillary has her problems with Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, and speaking out of all sides of her mouth. The pant suits are enough to warrant expulsion from the Senate for bad wardrobe taste.

Is it fit for someone who hangs with prostitutes and tax collectors to be considered for god? :)

What does "who one hangs with" have to do with anything?

Right, let's hang Hillary on something her Husband did, nevermind the fact that he was one of the best presidents in US history and has gone into history along with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. I'm sure they had a large quarrel over it, but it's called forgiveness and you should probably get over it if Hillary could.

Horrible post and it's people like you, along with rednecks that ruin elections based on unbased prejudices or prejudices based not on the actual person running, but the persons they hang out with. It's people like you that keep George W. Bush in office even though he has completely destroyed the remainder of USA's reputation.

I don't agree with the OP. Who you associate with does not make you who you are. Just because she is married to a man who messed up badly as president does not make her a bad choice for president.

When it is your husband?

What does that have to do with anything?

I'm no fan of Hillary Clinton. Not by a long shot. If I had to choose between voting for her and voting for Adolf Hitler, I'd have to pause for a moment to think...

... but Hillary's familial association with Bill Clinton doesn't by itself make her a bad choice for President. I can't imagine why it would.

Are you suggesting that she should have divorced Bill? Would that have redeemed her in your eyes?

I am again grateful for living in a country where politics is not completely dominated by cults of personality - though it's getting that way. :sigh:

At least I don't have to choose between only two parties, Far Right and Further Right...

Bill Clinton cheated on her in their marriage. However, instead of just divorcing, they worked this out between themselves and Hillary has (presumably) forgiven Bill. To me, this seems a very christian thing to do from Hillary. Shouldn't fundamentalist christians take her as an example and role model?

When it is your husband?

So hanging out with prostitutes is an okay thing for a god to do, but when a woman
forgives and remains faithful to her unfaithful husband, this is a bad thing?

I'm no fan of Hilary but you're grasping at straws if you think your approach is consistent with basic Christian principles.

A woman for president is a bad idea. Hillary for president is even worse. Do you think America never had a woman for president by coincidence?
Why would a woman not be a good president? Are you saying that there is something about being a woman that would make someone a bad president? You certainly can't claim a woman can't be a strong, authoritative leader for a nation - hate her or despise her, Margaret Thatcher showed a woman can lead a country as firmly as any man.

I think the United States has never had a woman president because of turnips like you, not because a woman like Hillary can't run rings around 90% of the population of the US.

You can transfer that logic to black people, seeing as there's been no black presidents - Anyway it's incredibly insensitive, stupid and unbased. You have never had a woman as a president because it's not even all that long ago women got equal rights as men, and rednecks like you still live in the stone age and think nothing should ever change.

Really? I think you'll find recent polls show you're wrong. Most people say they would vote for a qualified female candidate. Or, as it happens, a qualified black candidate. Mind you, you'd be right (in terms of majority opinion) if we were talking about a gay candidate. Or even worse - an atheist.

Except there is no such thing as a qualified female candidate. Check out Ron Paul he would be my favorite if he was gay

I did not expect everyone to agree with me. This is my opinion, and has been the majority of all opinions in the USA. Otherwise there would have been a female president by now.
We haven't had a black president either... or a mormon president. Guess they aren't qualified either. By your logic that is.
