Couple of inches, possibly. Did you know that the official definition of a white Christmas over here is one snowflake landing on the roof of the London weather centre? So it could be declared a white Christmas without the rest of the country seeing any snow at all. Apart from Scotland, that is, where it's almost a foregone conclusion.

So....there I am exiting the mall Friday (stopped by after work, at lunch, to pick up some Burger King drive thru). It's packed, and I didn't even get out of my car! People are gesturing, frowning, unhappy little holiday campers. I start to get upset and wonder how I am going to finish shopping if it's like this. And I wonder, why are we spending all our money, losing our peace and joy, in order to celebrate a gift that was freely given to bring us peace and joy?
So I got home, enjoyed lunch with the kids and finished shopping Saturday. There's probably more I'm supposed to do, but I'm done. We have enough stuff, and we have our peace and joy. God has supplied all our needs according to His riches in glory and I am thankful to and for Him, and that's the name of that tune.

I thought Scotland to be a country in it's own right

It might as well be, as it has its own legal system and Parliament. Some have talked about giving Scotland its own time zone, and it seems that whenever there's a controversial law or something, it always gets tried out in Scotland first. But it could never be physically seperated from the UK, and, as far as I know, there's been no talk of removing their flag from the Union Jack.

But Lismore could no doubt tell you more, and correct my ignorance.

WEll I don't deny that but I thougth the united Kingdom simply meant that it was a group of countries serving under one ruler. I thought England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales were all separate countries.

Is it just me or is British sci-fi really strange?

I've been watching Dr. Who and for some strange reason they have very odd ideas of aliens and such.

I mean, here in the USA we have sci-fi that is more mellow-drama......

I think any Sci-fi is really strange. I used to love Doctor Who - what sort of aliens are in there at the moment?

They're the same episodes but they reversed the image so the people drive on the correct side of the street.

You know what I love? I don't know if they are still there, but when I was in London almost 20 years ago, there were arrows on the street (like, actually on the pavement) saying look left and look right, so no one would forget which direction the cars were coming from. Very considerate, those English.

You bet. I do suppose, however; it would be much more effective if they knew one from the other. Don't you think?

Hello Strong In Him!

Well the last "alien" that I saw the Dr. and Rose completely obliterate was the devil! Yes, the beast from the pit rose up and threatened the Dr.......and the Dr. done yaked and yaked and yaked....then Rose blew the viewscreen on the ship she was in and the antichrist was sucked out into the vaccum of space! Oh, the beast imploded down in the pit......see what I mean about weird scifi?
