  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Let's contact a Mod, then. We really do need to get that back, yes.

EDIT:

Also, Bishop clears. My only concern is that we've been keeping Vampires vulnerable to holy objects. I know it's mostly limited to Stoker's book and a few works of modern fiction, but it's something we've stuck with. Would that interfere with Bishop's career, or could he have found a way around it?

Hmm... that's tough... I hadn't thought of that.

Maybe he found a way by only handling his cross with a glove or something or maybe he just avoided wearing a cross and nobody ever noticed. Or maybe he failed to get the Reformers the way he wanted to because he had to vacate because people finally noticed he wasn't wearing the cross and doing all the things he should be doing as a Bishop. And several centuries later he went back to being a monk. Less noticeable and able to isolate himself while still be involved in the church politics with letters.

If anyone could think of a better explanation I'm all ears. I'd really like to have him be the cause off all those events in church history.

Those all work pretty well. Well enough to satisfy me, anyway. :) It's not like a vamp can't be in the same room as one. Just... note that performing many sacraments would be impossible for him; especially ones involving holy water. That too would raise suspicion.

Basically, near future, vampires have organized into a "Brotherhood" that acts as a strong-arming governing body for vampires. They don't demand you join them, but they have rules that they expect other vampires to follow; or else.

They're trying to conquer Mexico as their own country, to try and establish a global-scale foothold. But the Catholic Church, which has very strong influence there, is sending their best to stop them. The US government is trying to hinder the brotherhood in order to protect their borders, and the British and Russians are rumored to be sending operatives to increase actions against the US.

Small-scale, our characters have been focusing on the battle over this one town. The Church is operating from the, er... church, in this area, and Cyberwing's character, Katrina Lightfoot, is looking after a few independent folks in her newly-bought home not far from it. The Brotherhood is making moves against the church and a satanic cult of rogue vampires. Russian KGB men have begun to stick their fingers in things, and er... that's the majority of the story-driving detail that would affect a new character.
