Hi guys! I'm Joseph, 30 years old and I need a little help in reaching out for God.

So I'm new, I was only 1-2 times in church as a kid, but nowdays a lot of strange things happened to me, I feel God touched me, and I feel it from my heart I need to answer that.

Unfortunately there is no Catholic Church in my neighborhood so I came here for help, to learn the basics.

I have a lot of questions.

How should I pray when I do not have too much time or when I have plenty of free time?

For instance should I recite the Lord's Prayer a couple times before I go to sleep, or just once and then speaking to God tell Him my feelings, if I need help, etc...? Or maybe I should just talk to God like and old friend and telling him how was my day (I live alone so I have nobody to talk about these things).

When should I pray the rosary? And how to meditate on the mysteries? What are the mysteries?

How should I pray in the morning before I go to work, or before meals?

There are so many things to learn, I'm so inexperienced.... :/

I'm not sure about the music thing, I do not know to much Christian musician, there is pretty good band, Skillet I like their music:

Hello, Joseph! Just a quick response to your opening post:

If Jesus said to call God our Father, how would you speak to your Father? Probably not by saying the same thing over and over and over.

I was raised Catholic. I can assure you do not need the institution nor a string of rote prayers to reach out to God.

From Matthew 6:

5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

It is time to put down religion and pick up relationship. God bless you on your journey, brother.
