Hi, I'm new here. I don't even have 5 posts yet to PM my Welcome Angel with questions so I have to read up on the rules. I chose this forum because my issues are due to my stage of life and I have no one to discuss them with.

Bigest issue first is...I recently turned 60 and I'm struggeling with diabetes.

I have spent the last 8 months in serious prayer and meditation seeking answers from the Holy Spirit to pull out of a dark night of the soul that took over my life for the last few years. I am glad to report that I have been blessed and guided on this journey but so far I have been alone with the loveing care of my husband and my pet.

I will be a little slow till I figure out how to do everything here, like I dont know what these "Blessings" are all about.

It would be very nice to meet some of you soon.
Hi springrain,
So glad you decided to post here! There might be some other forums that could discuss diabetes with you a little more in depth to let you know you're not alone in that battle(I have a early case of it also) I take pills now do you or are you having to take insulin? Your husband and pet must really be a comfort to you who knows you better than a hubby? What kind of pet do you have? I will be praying for you and do feel free to pm me any time.
There's a 'how to thread 'if you get to stuck, but feel free to ask any of us how to do anything.

Thanks everyone to the warm welcome!
Like Springrain--it will take me awhile to figure everything out but it looks fun and a bit of fun is good.

I too cant wait for spring! By this time of year cabin fever sets in and all I want to do is go outside :)
A little about myself? Well I am blessed to have an active role in my grankids lives and all but the 5 yr old has excepted Jesus.

In 2001 I came down with Lyme disease that wasnt discovered until the Lyme was well advanced. Prior to that I was very busy with work and ministry--to busy I imagine. But I liked it.

Long story short--I got very sick and the Lyme led to other complications but the hardest was being forced to slow down--more like stopped.
The first year was the worst--it took some doing to accept the changes in my life.

God was there--as he has always been there and helped me adjust. When it became clear I could no longer work I was heartbroken but God showed me that there was plenty for me to do--just different now.

That began what I like to call --my new adventure :)
In 2003 I was able to fill a life long dream by going to Israel--a dear friend took me. Talk about life changing!

I also began to paint--hobbies I had never had time to do. In fact--I didnt even know I could paint :)
I also do fabric painting--Now I paint the kids jeans as well as their friends.

I have two small dogs and a cat--animals are a huge part of my life.
I am caregiver for my mom who has early dementia and she also has diabetes--so I know how that can be a struggle.

Ok--this is long enough :)
Again--thankyou
God Bless

For those of us who have no-idea what Lyme Disease is
I include this link

http://www.ei-resource.org/lyme-ei.asp

Yes, there is much we do not know
about our planet, and our place upon it
the things we undertake in-ignorance can
place us in great peril

We continue to learn

Wow so many new folks here SpringRain and Bubba welcome. I am a nurse but although I am still in a helping profession I do not nurse anymore. I work with disabled students in a high school setting.
About being set back with illness I have had to deal with it in a very minor manor with this nerve problem in my neck and back and I get such inspiration from the many on here who have had so much more to go through. It proves that slthough aging is not easy or always fun we can go through with humor and dignity and continue to serve God in the process. You are all so great. I do hope we can be supportive and loving to you both on this forum. Jan
