  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just wondering how many of you ladies, and gents are single with no children........At 49 I feel like I don't have any direction.

Just can't seem to get with the program here! I have been divorced now about 7 yrs and just cannot find a place in my heart to live and be happy!

I have been praying for direction and focus because I feel like I am always living for the "basic dream" A place where I will fit in and be happy. I tend to dream of better places, and a better life, and not be content with what I have......Why is this? So many people out there that are sooooo worse off than me, and suffering!

Do I need a spouse, and children to give me direction? No, I shouldn't need anything more than God in my life, so why do I feel so lost, and alone......and that my life is being wasted away...? hhhhmmm

Maybe someone/somebody out there knows how this feels! And can concur or relate. I have even read "purpose driven life" !

Thank you for letting me join CF this seems like a wonderfu community

Welcome to CF and to the Fab 40's, Silly. I kinda know how you feel about being lost. I have been married and divorced twice. I do have children, two of them, but they are now grown, so, I feel the purpose in my life has changed, and I haven't quite figured it out yet, either!
