As we would say in Japanese, yoroshiku onegaishimasu (please take care of me)! I am learning Japanese, and starting to learn another Asian language. I was on CF many years ago with an account I do not even remember what the username let alone password was, but my views since then have changed so much it is not worth digging around for it.
Therefore, I am somewhat familiar with the rules (not much has changed) and I will do my best to not cause trouble.
Anyway, I was raised ELCA-Lutheran, but was baptized... Baptist. I appreciate many different theology ideas- I like the idea of baptism as espoused by Baptist theology, the idea of intercession from the saints from Orthodox/Catholic theology, and many other ideas besides. I used to think Christianity was about following the rules, but these days, I think it is more about reflecting the love God showed us to others in many forms. I am somewhat of a hippie-Christian in that regard, I suppose (and, um, yes, sex before marriage is still wrong, just to be clear).
I also deal with some controversial areas in my spare time relating to preventing sexual abuse before it can happen, and I hope to have the opportunity to chime in when the topic comes up, as it is an important area that I happen to be familiar with, not quite by choice. I am now in a place where I can discuss that, should you wish to ask.
I hope to provide a unique perspective, given my past and present leanings, and to learn the perspectives of others.
Nice to meet you guys!
PS: Do I automatically get subscribed to watching threads still, or is there a setting I need to go change?
Wait, I think I just answered my question...
