  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is my first post here but I'm a regular poster on medical forums. They've been very helpful and I appreciate the feedback. I enjoy sharing on them as well, but I'm becoming bored with the topic of "health." (Burnout, maybe). I'm wanting to return to the deeper thoughts that I'm hoping to find and share here at this forum.

Red,
No. I'm not fluent. I wish I was. I have a friend who is deaf and a daughter who is mentally retarded, autistic, and non-verbal, so I have a strong interest. I do sign language in church. We currently have no deaf members so I don't interpret. (I've filled in for an interpreter-- at another church-- in the past but did a lot of paraphrasing. I'm not bad at it though.

I sign during music time. I'm one on the "praise team" (song leaders) and I sign most of the songs we do....unless they are fast. I don't think fast songs look very pleasant when you sign them. The average person (who doesn't sign) isnt' going to get much (if anything) out of me signing a fast hymn. I'd rather clap or sing. I do well (signing) with slow songs (like "I Love You Lord"). I can go faster than the sloooooow ones, but I'm terrible at fast hymns (like "Wonderful, The Matchless Grace of Jesus").
