  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You know when you get that internal pull to read your bible and you don't listen to it? I have been ignoring it for years but due to a chain of events over the last 6 months I have picked it back up and opened my bible. I'm building my relationship with HIM and it is a work in progress. My goal for now is to read my bible every day and replace doomscrolling online with reading.

welcome to the forums. Good luck! I remember the first time i read the bible. It was at work while being a flagger for the oil and gas company. so we had plenty of downtime. It was 12 hour shifts, so i read the bible while at work while listening to the CB Radio for the truck drivers announcing they was coming through. Took me 3 months to read the bible from cover to cover.

Thank you for the welcome. 3 months? That is impressive. It is going to take me a little bit longer. I've been reading a lot of random verses and taking notes. I have not decided on a reading plan or if I should just start with Genesis. Did you read it cover to cover?

yup, i read it cover to cover like a story the first time i read it. Actually i had read the NT a few years prior. But when i decided to read it cover to cover, i started with Genesis and read it all the way through revelations, 3 months later.
I then picked up the Apocrypha, Book of Mormon, Gnostic Texts, Dead Sea Scrolls, after that.

 Welcome, Mila!

I'm with you regarding the doomscrolling. Trade in the stress of that for the peacefulness of reading the Bible.

I've done the Bible in a year plan cover to cover several times. This year I started with Matthew, will finish the NT and then do something with the OT, not sure what yet.
