  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi! :) I hope your day is going well.

I have a question. I was thinking y'all can help me figure out something. I just got a printing job done at this business, and the way they do things is really high quality and the price is amazing. They're all really nice. They even seemed to have knocked $20 off my order. So my question is, would it be okay for me to go back and give them a tip? Would they consider it rude or insulting?

They did a good job, excellent. They took $20 off my order and didn't even mention it. They even did a part of the order for free, they didn't even charge me for it.

A tip is great ...But really good review on their web site would be a blessing that would profit them in a greater capacity.

I agree with Sandman, if they have a website a review would be well intentioned. Sending other people's business their way and doing your own repeat business with them would also be great. Maybe a thank-you letter? That's not something many people consider doing these days.

Of course I'll give them a good review, thank you for suggesting that. Do you think a tip would be okay though? Or insulting? I want to do both.

It may be that, as you were a new customer (at least that's what it sounds like?), they gave you a discount as a way of encouraging further business. I don't think offering a tip would be insulting, but If the money was the most important thing they would have charged the full price for the order. They performed a good service, did a good deed you might say. I doubt they expect a tip, but would appreciate business being sent their way, especially if they're a small business, to further their reputation. If it's on your heart to give a tip, though, do what your heart tells you.

I was somewhat of a new customer. I haven't been there in years and I don't think they recognized me. I'm pretty sure that's why they charged less than they originally said they would. Thank you for your thoughts. I think I'm going to give them a tip.

It doesn't have to be a cash tip.
I had a tyre firm that fixed a leak on a wheel and didn't charge me, so as it was a hot summer, I took them apack of chilled drinks as a thank you.

So a piztsa or coffee and dodnuts, a homemade cake and grab a handful of there cards to pass around.
