Hi all,

Introduction: I was very excited to find this forum since I do not engage in social media. I have not been able to speak with other Christians, apart from my parents, in many years. I moved from the US to England 20+ years ago and Christianity is different here compared to what I grew up with in the Southern US. As a result, I have not attended church, or even found anyone else who shares my beliefs in all this time, so very excited to see if there are some people here who I can learn from and grow.

First Impressions: many seem very knowledgeable here about the Bible, history of Christianity and how it compares to other religions etc. That is great. I really wanted to donate before being confirmed as a member! However, I felt somewhat bombarded by the amount of rules regarding what can be discussed and how which, truthfully, has made me go from super excited to wary. The last thing I want to do is deny my beliefs, whatever the context, and pay for censorship.

So, we'll see how it goes.

You don't say what your beliefs are and why they would stop you meeting with other believers as scripture commands us.

Do you have any scripture to hand that you can show me which commands us to meet with other believers? Not doubting there is one, but I am not aware of it off the top of my head.

Does meeting have to be under certain conditions, or roofs? Does this not include speaking to other Christians like on this forum, for example?

As to meeting with other believers, I have yet to find a church who hasn't caved to the whims of society and, in doing so, have accepted the unacceptable as it pertains to God's law. Therefore, I wouldn't define these individuals or churches as believers. That has been one issue for me.

Here's a scripture for you encouraging you not to forsake meeting in congregation.

Therefore, let us approach the Holiest Place with a sincere heart, in the full assurance that comes from trusting — with our hearts sprinkled clean from a bad conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us continue holding fast to the hope we acknowledge, without wavering; for the One who made the promise is trustworthy. And let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds, not neglecting our own congregational meetings, as some have made a practice of doing, but, rather, encouraging each other.And let us do this all the more as you see the Day approaching.
