  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi there, I'm a newbie to both these forums and Christianity/Religion itself. I just wanted to tell you my story.

Okay this is how a found the Lord. It was just over a year and a half ago when a really good friend of mine invited me to her youth group. I was uneasy not being as serious as she is about it, but, I went anyways because I had a crush (really bad) on one of the guys who also went there as well. I have to be honest I really had no intent to pay attention, and I didn't. When we got back she asked me if I'd like to go to the next one. I turned her down then. Later that week I all of a sudden had this nagging feeling inside me to go this second one. I then begged and pleaded my friend to come let me come along with her. She enthusiastically said yes thankfully. When we got there I found out that it was "Song Nite" and I got really uneasy again. I can't sing and everyone who knows me knows this too. They had the lyrics on one of those projector thingies for people like me. I just stood through the first song and felt stupid. Then my friend convinced me to sing along with the second song, so I gave the lyrics a look-over and agreed. The music began to play and I just sang. I realized that God did not care how I sounded, or if I was off beat, God cared that I was singing towards him. The song was "Awesome God" which still is my favorite song as of now. Something about it just took me to a higher place and for once I felt that people weren't judging me by the outside but more of the inside. I remember those two hours of singing and I remember them so well, so well. It was honestly like I was on a sugar high. So over the next 7 or so months I took time out of my regular schedule (but maintaining it) and found who I really was. I found out that I was truly one of Christ's Daughters, and that he'll always protect me, and give me love, and a person to talk to. I wish I hadn't of waited so long, but now I truly believe that whether I know it or not God put me on this planet for a reason and that every decision I choose he has a valuable part in helping me. The one thing that I still have yet to do is fully read the Bible, I just picked it up 3 days ago so I could really have a self-interpreted version. I've never read the whole hing, and I'm making that my goal is to fully read the Bible.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
