• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey guys,
Its been a while since Ive been here. Ive been on meds now for just about 8 weeks and I was doing great. My drinking has completly stopped and I have had no urges at all since before Christmas. Im glad to be through with that.
I start with an awesome counsellor and shes young(27) so she totally understands everything Im going through. However, I think the meds have stopped working. Im really feeling low and am having bad thoughts again. I just dont feel like living as bad as that sounds. I have so much to live for but its just...tiring I guess. I dont see my counsellor for another 2 weeks as she was completly booked.
Im just needing somewhere to turn, so thanks for listening.

Becky

Becky,

Great seeing you on here again! I hated that we lost touch. You are such as awesome friend and fun person to talk to! I will definitely be praying for you in your struggles with your meds not working like they should and the long time before you can see your counselor again. You are such as awesome girl, please know you have LOTS to live for! You are gonna be great working with young mom's and infants! PM/e-mail me anytime if you want to chat or need someone to listen.

Love Ya,
Trinity

Hey,
Im on 20 mg. of celexa a day.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Im just feeling really down and overly stressed with four papers due this week, a school site study and also a midterm. Its alot considering I have even started three of the papers.
I just am tired of feeling this way. I wish I could feel better, like I was before. Also, Im feeling kinda lost since I dont get to see my counsellor till next week. It was the one time where I came away with a clear head.
Its not like me to not want to live...but thats what its been feeling like lately. I just feel so overwhelmed and like Im not going to get anywhere...like Im stuck

I would suggest Becky, talking with your Counselor about adjustments.. praying you will adjust and do well..

I have had depression for years.. came to Christ over a year ago.. did it go all away? NO.. still have to take my meds.. todays world is full of all kinds of things which make us feel different then others, when we really are not.. I think we are special and think God does also.. many people in the Bible faced same situations.. we are fortunate to have meds today to make us feel alittle better.. never think you are less because of this sickness.. in the end, we will be with Jesus and have total comfort and total love.. peace be with you :)
