by brainwashed i mean brainwashed into unable to think about other things other than that.... lol. Watching war movies and reading the statistics were the two things i hated the most in history lesson.

but you're absolutely right. History teaches us so many things, unfortunately the more gruesome parts of history tend to be repetitive.

I can think of other things than history! Oh man, I feel just like Napoleon did when he was exiled to Elba. ;) OK, so maybe I'm a bit preoccupied with history.

Too true. So for your history at school Blessed-one, what parts of that class did you prefer (I'm going to be a history teacher next year, so this is research!)?

lol, history has its appeal i suppose.. and so do all things. i remember having to construct a battlefield once, and being less artistic in this kind of work, mine looked absolutely horrible compared to others.
oh yes, i presume you have a story teller streak in you?

which type of history do you teach? the usual ones in yr7-10 or others in yr 11-12?

um... come to think of it, i didn't really enjoy history here, but the 3 months of chinese history i learnt back overseas was interesting. I think it has something to do with the particular history itself. Maybe i enjoy olden day history more than modern history.

Ah, the curse of those of us who are less artistic. I hated doing stuff like that at school too Blessed-one. So you're in good company.

Yeah, I'm too much like my dad, so I'm definately a storyteller. Not tall stories though. ;)

When I'm on prac throughout this year, I will most likely teach yr 7-10, and that syllabus gives a broad range of options to pursue if I want. But when I get a full time job I could teach yr 11-12 too.

Chinese history is awesome. What time periods did you cover? Was it olden history like ancient, or olden as in 19th century?

yeh, kookaburra, uni is a very confusing yet interesting place..
1st week is always chaotic for my uni, because timetables are never settled.. and they are changed all the time.. very stressful.

and lecturers tell you all the assessment due date on the 1st lecture!!! ahhh.. I'm already scared of failing even though study hasn't even begun.. i think i need more guts..

transfer, ferment! ;)

thanks Kook, and prayers to you too.
yeah, i doubt uni is easy anywhere, but maybe one 'can' make a distinction between courses. i'm sure engineering is harder than say, commerce; but to some people with talents, that wouldn't be the case.

lol. :D

ancient history.. i see what you're getting at... :)

yr 7-10 seems standard, australian history is compulsory (of course!), but in year 11-12, students get to choose the time period to study, which might be more interesting from the perspective of history teachers who are really into history, not just for the sake of it.
um.. just what i think... i'm no history teacher though! *look left and right for the certain someone who is*
