If you watch the video, the guy says that there are 10 questions that every Christian should (must) be able to answer.

I thought it would be fun to go over them here and answer them for our own benefit.

I think one of us should send in a video response! Any good-looking people in da house?

What do you think, do you want to try this?

Here's the ten questions he asks:

  • 1. Why doesn’t God heal amputees?
  • 2. Why are there so many starving people in our world?
  • 3. Why does God demand the death of so many innocent people in the Bible?
  • 4. Why does the Bible contain so much anti-scientific nonsense?
  • 5. Why is God such a huge proponent of slavery in the Bible?
  • 6. Why do bad things happen to good people?
  • 7. Why didn’t any of Jesus’ miracles in the Bible leave behind any evidence?
  • 8. How do we explain the fact that Jesus has never appeared to you?
  • 9. Why would Jesus want you to eat His body and drink His blood?
  • 10. Why do Christians get divorced at the same rate as non-Christians?

It is necessary for God to allow us humans and those on other worlds to see the full extent of sin.

But He could if He knew that it would somehow glorify Him.

For #1, I'd cite verses like Matt 9:29 and 9:22

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

If we believe that we'll be healed with all of our hearts and souls, we will be. That's how I see it anyway.

I think someone with an injury that bad doesn't even think to ask for regeneration of a limb, because it would literally be a miracle that others could see, not just the person getting healed.

Then I'd just point out the obvious...they were healed, or they'd be dead. A lot of people with limbs blown off or cut off in an accident don't survive. It's still healing, even if they are missing a limb.

And for those of us without a missing limb, you have to admit that seeing an amputee makes you think about your own mortality.

One thing as well Trust. I have heard it said that it takes greater faith NOT to be healed then it does to BE healed.

Such as a patient who is terminal, yet maintains that "God is good all the time" kind of attitude. I have seen this with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. While I would have loved to see this man healed from his cancer - he was able to witness to all of us while he was dying.

When I was recovering from brain surgery I asked for death a few times. It was excruciating and I couldn't imagine life afterwards (who knew I'd have such a full life NOW).

I had people praying FOR me though.

My husband always says, and I agree..."you cannot escape the power of a praying mother!" It's the absolute truth.

Those are some tough questions. I ask myself those questions from time to time.

Brother, answer every one of them in your own heart and mind through study and prayer, and move on. There are some things that we won't know until heaven, and it's okay to say that's OKAY!

Childlike faith is not childish faith.

If everything in this world were perfect, who would even NEED faith?

We choose what to put our faith into...and I promise you that you are NOT wasting your faith by believing in our living God!

This guy doesn't have faith in anything, but God will prove him wrong some day and imagine what a wonderful testimony that will be!

5. Why is God such a huge proponent of slavery in the Bible?

I think this one is such nonsense. God is not a proponent of slavery although He did give laws concerning how slaves were to be treated - He knew that in a sinful world that it would happen and made provisions for it.

  • 10. Why do Christians get divorced at the same rate as non-Christians?
EGW: "The new birth is a rare experience in this age of the world. This is the reason why there are so many perplexities in the churches. Many, so many, who assume the name of Christ are unsanctified and unholy. They have been baptized, but they were buried alive. Self did not die, and therefore they did not rise to newness of life in Christ" (MS 148, 1897). S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 6 (1956), page 1075, paragraph 7 & Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve [Nos. 921-999] (1990), page 51, paragraph 1

  • 2. Why are there so many starving people in our world?
Geography. Ignorance. Apathy. Sin. Lack of prayer.

On another note,
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." [Amos 8:11, 12.]
