  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm Emily and I am a young professional in the law field who grew up in Lutheran/Methodist/Presbyterian churches (props if you can spell Presbyterian without a dictionary because I still can't spell it on my own, haha) and I was baptized Lutheran.
I love outdoor activities and being with my friends and family as well as cooking--all the good things in life really and I study history/law/politics/theology in my alone time as well as write. Personally, I am bubbly and get enthusiastic about funny or simple things, which makes me happy. I also love getting to know other people and listening to what they feel and think as I am quite compassionate and like to listen/discuss.

Welcome. Love the pomma poof. I know that's not the correct term, we have a little girl called spyro. Part pomma part poof. Our daughter left her with us while she was in England and needless to say we got attached and didn't give her back.
