Hows it going fellas and ladies?

Wanted to introduce myself. my names Gus and Im 20 from the Philadelphia area.

Decided to sign up here after I made a thread for christians on a weight lifting website and only got a bunch of very insulting responses.

A few things about myself- I have been a football player my whole life. Last year around this time i had a devastating injury that has left my right arm paralyzed. Thankfully I had faith, or else I dont think Id still be here. Im in a very challenging point of my life.

Anyway, I had a few questions I might as well ask while Im here.

1. what do you do when aethiests insult God? Ive had people tell me im stupid for having faith and saying insulting things about Jesus and Mary. I try just ignoring them, but I must admit that I do get angry and that only bottles it in.

2. How are these forums? I would love a place where I can talk about my faith to people from around the world.

1. Get a sense of humour. Most atheists are just joking but you guys tend to take things way too seriously. No point in getting angry, it's really really really bad for your blood pressure. I've had the reverse not so much from other people my age but from teachers at school disrespecting my own beliefs and you just have to learn to deal with it.

In that case they're probably just (insert word of your choice, I'm not sure what I can say on here). You know how you get annoying Christians who always think they're right? There are atheist equivalents. They're just not organised so they don't get the same level of press. Best to just ignore them/treat them as a source of amusement that people can be that stupid.

Hey gusbus48 welcome to the tcf I am sorry for the injury you being suffering.But still glad to know that even in the difficulty circumstance you still have faith in god,that's the true faith bro!As for the question you have asked my answer will be this:

I ask them to not invade on my beliefs and I won't invade on them. I'm not a swift talking disciple. I leave it to the religious friends of mine to debate them. I've walked away from confrontations.

most atheists I know aren't joking either. Best just not to let it bother you. Once they've made up their minds, there isn't a lot that you can do to change it.

I like these forums theres a lot going on, and you can always get responses to whatever you want/need to talk about

Hey Gus, I am from New Brunswick, Canada and I played hockey all my life till I received too many concussions and now cannot do almost anything that is physically active or any physical contact (sports or activities), so i know what you are going through.

When someone insults you for believe in God, Praise God. In Acts the Apostles were beaten for trusting in Jesus and they were dancing in the streets on their way home. Jesus told us to Praise him when we are insulted for our faith. So like the entire 150 Psalm. Praise be to God.

I'm going to give a different reply than everyone else lol When I talk to atheists that give me a hard time for being a Christian I use apologetics to back it up. The Bible tells us we're supposed to always be ready with an answer for why we believe what we believe. Personally, I used to be an atheist so I get where they're coming from most of the time. As a Christian I definitely think we all need to be more educated on knowing how to respond to quips that non-believers throw out there. When we don't have an answer it makes us look ignorant (at least that's what I've run into in the past).

Sorry to hear about your arm, but really happy to see that your faith has stayed strong! I was in a pretty bad accident a few years back & my injuries derailed my career plans but God sure does take care of us when we have faith!
