  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Good day, everyone.

I am The Unworthy Prodigal (real name Nathan). I am a God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian who believes that Scripture is the final authority in all things. Fair warning: I lean heavily toward Calvinistic/Reformed theology.

I find it is often helpful when engaging with other Christians to know what Bible teachers and scholars they admire, so I will get this out of the way now. I do not post this to be divisive, but to let you know where I stand so there aren't any surprises.

I have been heavily influenced by the teachings of John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham, Steve Lawson, R.C. Sproul, Paul Washer, Alistair Begg, and Todd Friel (if you know, you know).

I absolutely love theology and reject the idea that it isn't important. As R.C. Sproul said: "Everyone is a theologian." Some just don't have a robust (or accurate) theology of the Lord. :)

To be completely honest, I was very hesitant to join the forums here as I've found that most of the perceived persecution I've experienced has come from other professing Christians. Part of that is certainly due to my own sinful pride or way of communicating, but I've also found that Christians have a hard time disagreeing amicably.

So if we happen to disagree on a topic, please be gentle with me and I will try to be the same. :)

Hi Nathan

Welcome to CF.

CF has hundreds of Forums so it's easy to get lost. I discovered a few which are more specific to Calvinism. I've listed them below as links.
To see the full list of Forums use the

Thanks for the links!

You're welcome.

Since most CF members are US based Christians they're probably all tucked up in bed. I'm sure they (the insomniacs) will be along shortly to say hello.

Nathan,

Great to have you join us...

I am likewise a prodigal son - I reckon theology comes from our experience in life partly - for the prodigal the sense of salvation being undeserved is more intense.

Love you...
