He's Looking at Rings

I'm so excited! We are waiting until he has a job to be serious about an engagement, but we have been together for 2 years. Tonight I caught him looking at rings, and it was his own idea to do so!

We found one we really really like. He is planning on speaking to my dad when we go back to visit my family, and proposing shortly thereafter.

The best piece of advice I ever received was from my cousin the morning of my wedding. She said to step back from it all and take moments to truly take the wedding day all in. Every part of it. Getting ready, the ceremony, the reception, everything. Because it all goes by soooo much faster than you'll ever realize.

My dad was here this summer, and my bf asked for my hand in marriage. My dad asked him to wait until his job is more stable. He agreed to do so. I'm disappointed but I understand and I appreciate that he is willing to respect my dad in that way, that he's not pushing his way in the relationship.

Marriage is suppose to be for better or for worse. I say go ahead and get married, and just use birth control until he has a stable job/income and financially you are ready to have kids.
