  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just saw it, and I loved it. I've always had a thing for samurai sword fighting and the like. I didn't really care for the pure subtitles, cause I got tired of reading.

The fighting was wonderful and very well coordinated and done. There was a couple of plot twists that made it more interesting, and the 348976435093 arrows flying into that city was really exciting. Overall, I thought it was a great movie, and I highly recommend it to any Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fans.

I think its pretty cool that they decided to "somewhat" mass release this unedited to the major theatre chains in the US. Deffinately an awesome movie if you enjoy that type.

Ironic though is that for less than the price of a movie ticket you can buy the movie "multi-region edition" from overseas (shipping included if you get popcorn lol) in a cool box too!

Awesome, awesome movie. I was disappointed by the fact that it didn't remotely live up to Jet Li's past Chinese movies for sheer combat scenes, but it was still definitely better than his American ones in that respect.

The thing that made it so amazing though was that it had the best visuals of any movie I've ever seen. The settings, the use of color, the characters...simply incredible.

It's the most expensive Chinese movie ever ($31 million), and it certainly shows in the special effects.

But Go Jet Li!!! He Is Way Better Than Jackie Chan... Jet Li Has All The Moves!!!
I disagree, I see them as two very different performers. Jackie Chan is much more acrobatic and untraditional. He uses more props, as well. At the same time, his strict martial arts skills are visible beneath the surface, and sometimes above the surface (as in the final scene of the original Legend of the Drunken Master, one of my favorite scenes from any martial arts movie).

Jet Li is more of a purist (in his Chinese films, for sure), and I prefer him much more in that respect. When it comes down to strict martial arts, he's probabaly the better of the two.

However, I think Phanum Yeerum has impressed me more in both aspects. However, he's new to the scene and Thai boxing isn't really a flashy art, so he's still pretty unkown.
If you haven't seen Ong Bak, it's worth checking out.

I watched this movie yesterday and I love the artistic parts...very colorful and detail-oriented. Beautiful. The story is kinda twisted though, you have to concentrate on the plot especially the subtitle thing makes it a little confusing. Overall, it's good.
