Nice platitudes. May they serve you well.
I agree with Sarah, it seems strange that Noah's descendants were so quick to forget the destruction God brought down on mankind with the flood. It's almost as if it didn't happen.
No, you handed in an incomplete report. I am being nice and giving you extra white space to complete your thought before giving you an "F".
It is not a platitude if you are standing on it.
Humans are quick to forget a lot. How long after the most brutal of all wars never to be fought again did we humans yearn for round two?
How do you know?
The act of disobedience did.
That's because of the mess left behind in round one. Yearning had little to do with it.
The flaw in your analogy is it assumes a qualified educator.
It can't be stood on without substance.
The lesson was how short memories mankind has.
I'm glad you concede your Biblical understanding is limited. We are getting somewhere....good.
Basic comprehension of the English language.
Adam didn't die that day, disobedient or not.
Your lesson plan leaves much to be desired. You failed to make the connection.
Now try it in the Hebrew, paleo-Hebrew or even LXX Greek.
Why is that though? The answer follows after that. The answers continue to be revealed many years to centuries after as well. Yet Adam did die. Hint: 2 Peter 3:9
Not if understanding the fallen nature is considered as the entry argument. A dog quickly returns to its own vomit.
Ah, now you're attempting to be clever... you've surrendered, then.
But in a sense, it is true that I'm limited to my knowledge of the Hebrews, their history, and their culture, when I read their scriptures... since I have no interest in hijacking their theology and making it my own, I'm "limited" in that I don't view them with the double-edged sword of.... well, love/hate is too vague; exploitation/contempt is more on the mark.
Yes, very limiting when you're not mining someone else's religion for whatever you can shoehorn into your own. Although it is liberating, in a sense, to know that the vast majority of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, were written by observant Jews... my respect for these people and their distinct beliefs does, however, "limit" me somewhat.
What do you mean?
Now try it in the Hebrew, paleo-Hebrew or even LXX Greek.
Why is that though? The answer follows after that. The answers continue to be revealed many years to centuries after as well. Yet Adam did die. Hint: 2 Peter 3:9
