BTW, chapter and verse divisions are different in many places in the Masoretic OT texts than in Christian translations derived from them. Heck, even in the NT there are differences between the number of verses between various NT manuscripts. In some places, whole sections of NT texts are not in some translations, the Johanine comma for example.

It is not a distraction. If your premise is faulty, the rest is meaningless. For your theory to work, you assume from the start that God inspired the chapter and verse divisions of a particular manuscript which didn't have any to start with.

God can do anything. Doesn't mean He did this. The burden of proof is on you. Looks to me like your case is based on two logical fallacies: the Goddidit and the Argument from Incredulity.

There are some very good reasons to honor the Sabbath, set-it apart from the rest of the week.

Each day of the creation week, (Seven days)

1 Day = 1000 years future.

The Seventh day is the Millennium, The First Resurrection

The Eighth day is eternity, the New Heavens and Earth.

So by keeping the Sabbath, the Believer is a shadow of the Seventh day, The Millennium, The Covenant of Peace Ezekiel 37:26, when He will reign on the earth, from Jerusalem Isaiah 2:3 and if any nation then does not keep the commandments, they will not have any rain. Zechariah 14:17

Hebrews 4:9
Therefore remains a Keeping Sabbath for the people of God
