Hemorrhoids

Yuck, so this may be way TMI, but today I found a small amount of blood after I did my "morning business." I was really freaked out, but because of the timing, I am assuming it is hemorrhoids. Yuck! I'm going to call my doctor in a bit to confirm and see what I can do about them, if anything. Anyone else experience this yucky, yucky thing?

I had "mild hemorrhoids while I was pregnant but they got REALLY bad after I had Justin...now seven weeks later I am STILL fighting them... so I feel ya!

I believe Colace is safe during PG, but ask your doctor. Also, make sure you're eating at least 25 grams of fiber and day and drinking plenty of water.

Another thing you can do is, while in the shower and soaping up, gently push the hemorrhoid(s) back into the anus. Usually this helps them heal quicker (since they're strangulated veins).

Unfortunately I got one from my pregnancy with my daughter and it never went away. It stays in, unless I'm having a BM. Colace is safe during pregnancy, that's what my dr suggested I take. Sometimes they'll shrink away, sometimes they won't. I was also told you can take a fiber supplement. Lil buggers are annoying!

This one didn't appear to pop out, at least to my knowledge, but I'm going to keep an eye on it. Hopefully it won't get any worse!

I had one horrible, horrible one while I was pregnant( I was early in my 3rd trimester)- I actually made an ice pack to sit on. I was very, very diligent about fighting them after that, and didn't even have them after birth (Praise God, because I always get them!).

Nettle tea is a good remedey, as well as Butcher's Broom. Exercise is also a good way to avoid them. Being diligent about your Kegels really helps!

I had one burst open when I was 14 weeks preggers with my first daughter, keep in mind I had just had a m/c a few months earlier. I went to the doctor and he told me it was a small hemorriod that burst, and it was further up in my colon, so I didn't know I had them.

Scared the snot out of me when it happened. I have them now, but I just try not to strain when I have a BM, if it is not fast in comeing then I get up and walk around till it is ready to come, I know TMI.

Thanks for the advice and info, ladies! Luckily it hasn't shown up again, but I'm going to be more prepared now! BTW-my hubby keeps teasing me about how stimulating our conversation is...
