  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello
i am 15 and i cannot stop masturbating.
i know it is wrong but i just cannot help my self.
is their any tips on how to stop myself masturbating?

God Bless

Pray, without ceasing. Make sure your getting in the Word and enforcing good things.

Here is a verse that may help:"God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Other than that, I don't really know, sorry. Just realize that one day you will be able to do the real thing, :).

Personally, I had to use prayer, EXTREME discipline and a bit of psychology. Masturbation and pornography (I hope you never get into that, it is nearly impossible to get out of) appeal to us not only through our sexual lusts, but also through our bodies own hormonal systems.
Like Chilaha said, constant prayer is a necessity, and motivation, to keep going. Personally I also had to convince myself that masturbation was disgusting.
Also, I found that trying to wean myself off didn't work. One lapse in discipline is enough to 'reset the bar'.
Lastly, talk to people, and not just online. Tell people close to you who you can trust, as this not only removes some of the anxiety and pressure, but also gives you motivation to stop.

I think I have an answer for you. I struggled with the very same thing you have. I can tell you a strategy that I used to get off of it.

It's pretty simple. Set up one day where you allow yourself to do it. Once you feel you are ready, move on to two weeks and so on. Quiting cold turkey didn't work very well for me so I wouldn't advise trying that.

Once you are at the point where you can no longer remember the last time you did it you have beaten the worst of it. Now you might do it again once or twice after you have gotten through the worst of it and that is fine. As long as you can get to the point where you can't remember the last time you did it, you have gotten through the worst of it.

Also pray for God to assist you with this. His help will be extremly useful with this.

Prayer and an accountability group or person helped me the most. I learned pretty quickly that I didn't want to have to tell my friends each week that I'd slipped and masturbated. Plus it was just really detrimental to my relationship with God when I was consumed with either the physical action or the mental obsession. Of course, we're guys and thoughts of girls (not necessarily sexual) and stuff are always coming to mind, but for months now that stronghold of sin has been vanquished by the grace of our Lord Jesus. Not that I go without temptation or thought of it, but it's really only a whisper compared to what it was before. Best of luck, brother! :)
