  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm new to this forum, and I'm just really really confused. I have a horrible embarassing past, and for a short time I wasn't much of a believer as I am now. I've been saved and I pray for forgivness constantly, to the point where im in tears because I feel so guilty for going the wrong way at one point. I just still feel like almost like I'm not worthy.. I get very emotional about it and just feel like I can't be forgiven for all I've done wrong. I know I've had somewhat blasphemous thoughts during hard times, and I've always always regretted it. Am I doomed like I sometimes feel like I am?

kjune, the antidote for a tormented conscience is the grace of God. You came to Jesus because you could not save yourself. Now, as you continue to abide in His word, you will grow in grace and knowledge, and your appeal to God for a healthy conscience will be answered.

When Jesus was asked what one must do to do the works of God, He simply answered "believe in the One He sent forth". Faith comes by hearing the Word, and faith works through love. As you realize how deep and limitless God's love for you is, you will receive the power to overcome all the torment.

Jesus wants you to be free (Gal 5.1). His salvation reaches to every aspect of our souls. Keep on affirming the forgiveness He's already given you. Walk in it. Stand your ground. Soldier in it. In due season, you will experience the reality of the victory you already have title to.

Well, God forgives us even when we don't feel forgivable. Good thing for us, isn't it.

When you get down to it, human measures of "relative sin" don't hold a candle to the absolute horror of all the sins any one of us creates on an absolute scale of right and wrong.

You're worse than you ever thought possible.

God's even more forgiving than you ever dreamed.

Kjune,

My dear sister, nothing you have ever done - no matter how horrible - is so bad that God would find it difficult to forgive you.

When you pray, don't keep asking God to forgive you again for something you did in the past. He already has. Don't look for a change in God; for God does not change. He is Love and his love is the same for you yesterday, today, and forever more.

What you should pray for is that God will remove the torment of this shame and guilt. That He will most certainly do for you; his will for you is that you walk in joy and peace; not in shame and condemnation.

Here is a passage of Scripture I believe God wants you to have.

Isaiah 54
4"Fear not, for you will not be ashamed;
be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
and the reproach of being alone you will remember no more.
5 For your Maker is your husband,
the LORD of hosts is his name;
and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer,
the God of the whole earth he is called.
6 For the LORD has called you
like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit,
like a wife of youth when she is cast off,
says your God.
8 with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,"
says the LORD, your Redeemer.
9 so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,
and will not rebuke you.
10 For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Father, KJune has felt the torment of shame and guilt far too long. This is not the work of the Lord but the evil whisperings of the devil who does not want to see her prosper. I think that You must have a great plan for KJune, Lord because she has been under such a steady attack. The enemy has veiled her eyes. But You are God. You can open her eyes to see what she cannot see. Give her strength, wisdom, and perseverance to stand against every thought which contradicts your Word. Help her to take every thought captive to the authority of Jesus Christ. Help her to rejoice and be glad that she was lost and has been found. Pour out your Spirit upon her and make her whole in Jesus name. Amen.

Those sins you're clinging to and are afraid about...they died on the cross with your Savior. You're forgiven. Now live for Christ with joy and don't worry about those sins anymore. It's okay to be embarrassed by what you had done, but you don't have to worry about them anymore or fear that God doesn't love you. He loved you so much that He sent His Son to die in your place for those sins. :)

Kjune,
2 Cor 5:21 shows us exactly where God put our sin,"For he hath made him {Jesus Christ} to be sin for us," it gets so much better, "who knew no sin, that we might {do not read maybe, but are} be MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in him {Jesus} Watch what happens in Eph 2:4-7, "But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love where with he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened {brought us up from death, or made us alive in} us together with Christ, "by grace ye are saved;" 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit {God is actually saying to you, "sit right here in Christ , at my right hand", [see Eph 1:20 to find Christ]} together in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: 7 That in ages to come he might shew {us} the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us trough Christ Jesus. So look at God as that excited Mother on a holiday, who is preparing a feast for all of her relatives who intend to visit, except this mother is going to reveal a hidden inheritence that the family knows very little about, they just wait to realize the things that they have inherited. If your sin says to you "oh you are so bad" reply to that sin,But God... But God... Oh but God! made Jesus to be sin for me, so I could sit in Him in heavenly places... Don't misunderstand, your sin was left in the grave, Jesus loved the disciples so much that he did this to reassure them in John 20:15-17. Jesus said unto her, "Woman why weepest thou? whom seekest thou?" She, supposing him to be the gardener, {imagine yourself laughing, I thought he was the gardener} saith unto him, Sir, if thou hath borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, {stop right here and remember this verse, Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "you didn't know, God has the biggest BUT in the universe."lol He won't mind if you use it to remember His promise when sin says but -bbbut. Back to my point, Jesus, before He ascends to the father, after laying down his life, after recieving our wages, after roling away the stone and coming out from death taking up his life again, he stops and says, "Mary" it could have been Paul, it could have been Kjune, it was} .... Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say , Master. {She must have stepped forward to hug him} 17 He saith unto her, Touch me not; FOR I AM NOT YET ASCENDED TO MY FATHER, {Hold it just a minute, you mean to tell me that before, he returned to the father he stopped of in Jerusalem to ressaure Mary, and his disciples, He must surely love us, he sends a message Heyyy Peter, James, John your sin is paid for, ps I gotta go see Dad, talk to you later. Mary can not touch him because he goes to present himself Holy and acceptable before God} FOR I AM NOT YET ASCENDED TO MY FATHER: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your father; and to my God, and to your God. They Both the Father and the Son love us so much. Jesus might have said, a funny thing happened on the way to heaven Father, I stopped to tell my brethren and sisters, we love them. That sin is still in the grave just like we Planned, Kjune your being saved has always been planned, leaving your sin in the grave has always been planned, and seating you at the right hand of the Father has always been planned, and by the way I have the biggest but in the Universe, Romans 6:23.

Stand in front of a mirror and see yourself as God sees you - you have been forgiven, you are washed white as snow, your sins have been thrown in the lake of forgetfulness. When you continue to ask forgiveness for sins that have been forgiven, God says 'what sins' - He does not see them, nor sould you - You are washed in the Blood of the Lamb - white as snow - so just go BOLDLY to the Throne and talk to your Father - You are worthy

SharonL-

That mirror analogy is a great one! It is true, there is no spot or blemish our Heavenly Father will not see, no matter what size. Let our Father wash your body clean, let him fill you up with His Love. He DIED for you, your in his plan for a reason! He will use you when the time comes, until then Worship unto the Lord with all your heart, and just know my prayers go out to you, wounded Soldier of Christ! You will be at his right-hand side soon!

"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more and doesn't hold them against us; (Jeremiah 31:34, Rom 4::8).

Since Yahweh forgets (doesn't hold them against us), then there's no reason for us too. Replace those thoughts about not being forgiven with Scripture that says YOU ARE.
