You can be sure that God exists by simply looking at everything else
that exists: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead" (Romans 1:20). "Know
ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we
ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture"
(Psalms 100:3).

The only way to escape hell is to believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God (John 20:31), who died on the Cross for our sins and
rose from the dead on the third day: "Moreover, brethren, I declare
unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye
keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed
in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also
received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third
day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4); "if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved" (Romans 10:9). "For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Here are some stories of God doing stuff in my life to help you believe in Jesus. They are all true happenings.


One morning I got up and walked into the hall and I heard a voice say "How would you like to be stabbed in the Valley". The Valley was the rough end of town, and the voice scared me a little, I wondered if I had done something to offend God. I had planned to go down to the Valley to ask people out to church as was my habit at the time. In the end I went anyway regardless of the fear. I walked up to the first person I met and asked him if he would like to go out to church. He said to me "I am an atheist, I don't believe in God". I just said "fine", but hoped to change his mind. He then proceeded to unbutton his shirt and showed me scar marks up and down his chest and stomach. He said to me, "I was attacked by a knife wielding man in the Valley some time ago and spent months recovering in hospital, How could God allow that to happen to me". Then I knew why God had said in the morning "How would I like to be stabbed?". God understood this man, but had a good plan for him. Some weeks latter this man came out to church and became a Christian.

Some time after the second Gulf War an Australian man Douglas Wood was captured by terrorists in Iraq, who made demands for a ransom or he would be executed. I set about fasting and praying for his release, I said to God "You know where he is....tell me". Three words entered my mind ABC, Bizaar and "A-meal". I thought "I am going crazy what has all that got to do with him. Bizaar I though "this is Bizarre". I thought maybe "A-meal" is a town so I searched a map of Iraq for a town of that name, but found nothing that really matched. Some time latter Douglas Wood was freed by US troops who came across his captors. It was not until latter that I actually discovered what the three words meant. I was on a forum libertyunites.us and came across a post by a user called ABC in the post she appealed to the captors to release Douglas Wood because he had gone to a/or the Bazaar and bought food for homeless people and had provided them with "A-meal". I believe God saw this action too and blessed Douglas Wood with an escape from his captors.

One time I thought about suing some one but felt bad about it because I did not want to give a bad impression about what a Christian is like. So I prayed and asked God to show me clearly what to do. Latter that day I opened my bible at random, selecting a random verse and it opened to 1Co 6:7 "Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?" So I knew what God was thinking, no lawsuit. From this I don not believe God was saying all law suits are wrong just this one was.

At one point in my life I was praying for scientific cures for illnesses like cancer. Because I was on a science kick I thought would it not be fun to create a real life dinosaur. I wanted Jesus just for fun to show me how to create a Real Live Dinosaur, he can show us anything you know if he wants, but when I asked him how to start recreating a Dinosaur. Jesus spoke into my head the sentence "bood, a term I had never heard before. I decided to look it up on the Internet and I found out the following: You see, the children of Semai are taught from an early age, the concept of "bood." If a parent asks a child to do something and the child replies " bood," it means in other words, "I don't feel like doing that," and the matter is closed. Bood means gently No.

One day I was witnessing to a Muslim and he asked me why we ate pork. I used the verse out of the bible which says "It is not what enters the mouth that defiles a man but what comes out of the mouth". After some general discussion I finished for the night. I asked God to give me a verse from the bible to encourage me. I opened the bible at random and selected a random verse. It opened to the exact same verse that I had used with the Muslim. The one about food not defiling. So I knew that God was approving of what I had been talking about.

God will not despise you. He is wanting you to reach out to him.

Psa 15:1-5 A psalm of David. LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

Basically the LORD wants you to live a blameless life, one free of hipocracy, simply a gentle life, where you show care for your fellow man.

There is no condemnation in God for the person who lives a caring life. However because we have all at one time or another comitted sins against one another God requires some one to be punished, bought to account for the sins. But he chose to show us his great love by openly sacrificing himself (as an example to us of his love for us) in the person of Jesus on the cross, where he was painfully crucified. So that the one who chooses to have relationship with God, by simply believing in him, asking God to make himself one with Jesus, simply accepting that Jesus death and resurection bought us eternal life will be saved. It is an act of relationship, where God will join himself to you, partner with you, assist you, via his own person, you and God as friends can never be condemned to hell. He has made it all available for you all you need to do is ask him to come into your life, to join his spirit to yours, to be best buddies. Nothing can condemn a person with God.

Mal 3:17 "They will be mine," says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.

The good news is that God doesn't want you to go to hell either

No one can make you believe.. but if you read the gospels and ask God to reveal Himself to you through them, He will.

Well, obviously, I would recommed converting to Christianity, although that doesn't secure you a place in the Kingdom of heaven. I think the some Christians (myself included) believe that good deeds themselves are an act of faith, even if the person themselves doesn't know it. So if religion isn't your thing, just be a good person.

Believe it or not, God wants that outcome for you even less than you do. Ask for what you need and God is more willing than you can possibly imagine to lead you to it and provide it for you.

So . . . what is it you need to enter into the experience of God which awaits you?

Ask yourself why do you need Jesus? Can you keep all the 10 Commandments 100% of the time all the time? Only Jesus can. Visit here: The Good Test Since mankind has fallen - this is the spiritual medicine that they need. We can't work our way to heaven by following the 10 Commandments because he simply can't keep them like Jesus did. Thus, we are saved by grace through faith and the byproducts of this becomes good works. Without Christ good works mean zero.

God is a spiritual being so we must talk to him through prayer. Pray daily, reading the Word (Bible) and surrounding yourself with serious christians is the key. Find a church that you are comfortable at and they practice what they preach. Don't attend a christian country club or social club - but a church who preaches the salvation of Christ and is serious.

All you want is to "avoid hell"?? - but that's Not, what GOD, as Jesus Christ, you created for, did you forget?

Remember, GOD as Jesus Christ, imprinted your precious immortal soul, to living blissfully... with GOD forever...

so you might well ask: "How do I get to do that?" - and the answer is: Accept Him as your personal Creator~Father~Teacher~Savior~mentor~Best-friend~&~Resurrector; and following in GOD's footsteps, you are home Free...

Faith comes by hearing.

It means the more you read (hear), the more faith you'll get. Focus on reading/hearing only the stuff that BUILDS UP your faith. DO NOT read the opposite until you are standing firm in your faith.

And the reason is NOT so that you can hide from the negative "truth" and blindly believe only what you read on "for" side. The reason is that our mind is so easily confused and we don't see the lies given to us by satan (through material or our thoughts). We start to believe that they are true. And we lose our faith.

So it's not that satan gave you the truth and you started to NOT believe the Bible. It's more like satan CONFUSED your thinking and so you started to NOT believe.

So avoid confusion for now (the negative side of the issues of faith) and stick to stories that CONFIRM faith.

There are LOTS and LOTS of miraculous stuff going on everywhere. It's not the proof that we are missing, it's the KNOWLEDGE of the proof. God said: for lack of knowledge my people perish. So we have to go FIND that knowledge, that information that we need to support our faith. Commit yourself to reading all about miraculous events and your faith shall increase. (Don't forget to read the Bible, that's the source of the truth of how to be saved)

Hi Yargzz, I see lots of very sound advice offered in the above posts. Avoiding Hell is first and foremost based on a belief in Hell, a place where God punishes those that die in unbelief. So you present a contradiction, you are not sure God exists but you are sure God has created a Hell to avoid. Maybe you believe God exists after all, but are not willing to commit to God such that the committment affects your life. All this is a long way around the barn to say the first step in avoiding Hell is believing in Hell. And if you believe in Hell, then logically you believe in God. Which would mean you are not an agnostic. Or so it seems to me.

Hi Yargzz thanks for posting on here I agree with wot every other person here is wrote.
U know before I was a christian I used to think about death sometimes, u know and it would bring fear in me. I guess I thought I was quite a good person and perhaps I would make heaven, but I wasnt sure you know. I always believed there was a God when I was growing up, but guess decided to go my own way.
I became a born again Christian at one of the lowest points of my life, I was on an art course away from home, and failing I was on the wrong one and my great uncle who I loved was dying. I could see no point of life and was suicidal. I went to sunday school when I was younger but cant remember anyone telling me I could have a personal relationship with God. I had a dream one night which changed my life forever and Jesus met me. I prayed a prayer in the back of a Lukes gospel booklet andasked God to forgive me, my life changed, God gave me the greatest thing I could have ever asked for. I know now that I will go to heaven when I die which is the greatest thing ever. Its not been easy journey, let no-one tell you it is, but You gain far more. I hope you find him for yourself, and feel free to pm me anytime. Love and hugs Joxxxx
