  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but since you are a young Christian. You need to get him to someone who can answer whatever his questions are, and give him scriptural evidence, be a part of the witnessing process. But you definitely need to get him to your youth minister, pastor, elder, or deacon. I will be praying for him and you.

I went through a similar thing with my first husband. I used to leave the bible, leaflets and books lying about opened. The pastor used to come round now and again and chat to him and I prayed about it and all of a sudden one day he volunteered to say grace before our dinner. Tears came to my eyes. Just prayer, patience and pastors together with your wonderful witness. Leave the rest to God.

Thank you all for your help!! I've tried getting him to talk to my youth pastor ( who is WAY cool and on fire) but he won't go... his main thing would be that a lot of bad things have happened to him and he has done a lot of bad things, he doesn't get why God would let so many bad things happen to him and why and how God can forgive him when he doesn't know how to forgive all the people that have hurt him! Thanks

The word 'blame' is coming through very strongly from the comments you have made about your fellow. Do you think he feels he has any responsibility for his actions?
