  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In my church they have like regular prayer meetings where they Cast out the demons from peoples lifes and deal with all the spiritual problems going on. I have heard many stories before of demons manifesting in people at these meetings. What i mean by this is that people binging to recieve a prayer from the pastors or the assistants and they begin to mshake all fall to the ground and in some cases they may even try to physically fight the pastor.

I ended up going to a youth meeting and the pastor said that he was going to make a prayer for us to get all evil spiritual influences out of our lives. so they began the prayer and I realized that my heart was beating really fast during the prayer all the way until the end. And at the end of the prayer the pastor said to us if any of you felt different when we were praying e.g you were shaking or your heart was beating faster put your hands up. So i put my hands up and he called us onto the alter. Then he began to pray for each one of us and then I started to shake in my legs alot and i had a cold sweat in my palms my heart was racing even faster and i just felt scared.

What I want to know is what happened to me up there on the alter?

I realy dont understand this casting out demons thing its confusing How does it work?

Also was my fear due to GODS presence in the room or just General fear of having an outburst in fron of the church?

I have heard many stories before of demons manifesting in people at these meetings.

For me personally, seeing as I do not believe in demons, I would want to actually see for myself these things happening, and see if I could relate these "manifestations" to a physical explanation.
I think we should look for a physical explanation first, and then if it cannot be explained by common sense then perhaps it is supernatural.

(Maybe I'm a little too rational, but go with me on this one. :p )

Ok, so first of all your heart is beating faster than usual.
If I was being prayed over by a pastor saying he was going to rid me of demonic influences, and it was in front of a whole lot of people, my heart would be racing!
Then you had to stand on an alter and have further prayer. ANYONE in this situation would be scared! I know I would be! ^_^
So the common physical reaction would be for your legs to shake or your palms to start sweating.

I would not worry about it, Jkid! Everything that happened during that prayer was, as far as I'm concerned, due to the fact that you were nervous.

As for casting out demons, I'm veeeery skeptical.

Blessings, JKid!

I have next to no experience when it comes to demons, but I'll do my best. I believe that demons do come after humans, but there are conditions that need to be met. First, we all have our own demons to deal with. For example, I have one whispering in my ear right now telling me not to post anything because I have not enough knowledge when it comes to this subject. But as for possession, it is my belief that only when someone has not accepted Christ, will they be in danger of being controlled. If you are openly receptive in your heart to Jesus, then you have the power to drive away anything evil from your being. You only need to say to them, "In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave!" The key word there is Christ. If Christ is alive in you, then no power of evil can stand against you.

Second, in your situation, you say that you only had an accelerated heartbeat and weak knees right? All signs of extreme stress or nervousness. I'll try to make this understanding. Since I see on your profile that you are indeed a Christian, then it only makes since that you haven't really had any control issues. I mean, you haven't had the urge to throw yourself in the fire right? Your symptoms could have been only the result of nervousness, but it could also mean that your demons hovering over your shoulder could be losing their footing on you. They want to remain close to you and everyone else as well, but they can't as long as Christ is in you. From my limited knowledge of you, I can't make a definite guess on what to think, but for now, I don't feel that there is much to be afraid of.

Doctors orders: Pray nightly for Jesus to do what He wishes with you, and pray that He would make himself comfortable within you. And finally, that Satan would have no place in your heart and that you declare yourself free from him in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

God bless JKid. I will pray for you.

Hey, Jkid!Just a quick note: Beleivers cannot be possessed, but they CAN be oppressed. There is a difference. But you have authority thru Jesus and His word, so use it. Pray all the time, get into the Word, and be careful what you look at, listen to, think about and hang around. What you put into yourself (thru reading, watching, listening, etc) will affect your spirit. So guard it closely.
Blessings!
