Help!!

What are the signs of Bi polar. I really think I suffer from it. My mother has it. I am on medicane for depression but thats not helping. like one day I'll be Happy as can be then for know reason I get moody, angry, sometimes violent with my bf. I did go through alot this year losing my infant son and some other things but I felt like this for a while. Sometimes I dont sleep good and if i do I dont feel rested. Most of the time I have know energy. I also get very paronoid too. are any of these any symptoms?? thanks!

It could be bipolar 2 but, not being a doctor, I couldn't say for sure.

You should go see a pd and let him know that your mom has it and tell him what you wrote. This is important because yiu want the right meds. If it's only depression then it could be different meds. But, yes, that does sound like some of the symptoms.

I agree, print out what you wrote if you have to. It is hard to be honest with a doc about what is going on in your life, but it helps them give you the very best care possible!!!! Prayers!!!

I agree with the others....see a physchatrist!!!....BP has many faces and it effects each of us differently. Some get stuck in the depressive side and others get stuck in the anxiety side of it. For the most part BP is where "normal" people have highs and lows...such as depression/anxiety swings but they are able to maintain and deal with those highs and lows. BP's have a chemical imbalance in the brain that makes those swings much more severe and makes life very hard to deal with. Diagnoising BP can be a long difficult process of elimination because there are no test they can run to say, yep, you got it. Behavoirs have to be watched, histories analyayzed. And then there can be a long process of finding the right meds that work for you. I found out I was BP 3 years ago and they are just hitting the right combo of meds that work for me the best.
Along with a pyschatrist I would highly recommend counseling to help you deal with some of the issues you are struggling with. Besides the physcatrist can get a lot more info to make a better judgement as to whether you are BP.
