  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Instead of cutting down on walks, could you try using a Haltee? If you haven't seen them, they fit on the dog's muzzle kind of like a harness or bridle on a horse. If the dog pulls, it causes his/her head to be pulled to the side (because the leash is attached to it). Just a thought.

My malamute cross, kelpie x golden retreivers pull me along...one always misses out on a walk. Would two short walks a day be as good for me as one long one:sigh: :help:

There's nothing worse then walking a dog that walks you. If the Haltee collar does not work try obedience school they are not as expensive as you might think and training not to pull on the leash is one of the more simple things to teach a dog. How about fencing in the yard and just running them around the back yard then you could take them for individual walks, a different dog everyday.

Do you use a harness or a leash and collar. Some dogs behave better on a harness. Two short walks a day is ok but your dogs may get bored and have excess energy.

Hopefully they will learn not to pull. My dog still pulls but I remember hearing from a trainer to make it annoying to pull by making them sit and be inconvienced every time. This way you don't have to be "mean" but it takes a while and you would molst likely have to walk them one at a time to do the training--no fun but worth it. Good luck, I know it can be done if my big dumb dog can learn.

i got a muzzle -metal with a bit of foam padding. i also have a lead. I clip on the lead and then carefully put the muzzle on, when she puts her head down to get muzzle off, i grab the back of it and she thinks it a halty, she arches her neck, and stop her silly behaviour.
