• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Argh
Today I saw a counsellor and amoung other things was told I have an eating problem. I'm finding it hard to get my head around it.
I ended up cutting pretty badly as a result of it all. I'm struggling at the moment with my eating and cutting, everything just seems all a bit too much. The counsellor told me that she thought I had completely detached myself from the situation which is true. I no longer can see how serious the stuff is that is going on in my life, to me it is just normal.
I've got exams coming up, I just need to hold myself together for the next 3 weeks, I just hope that can

you can do it!! i know you can. just hold on...hold onto the Lord. i know what you mean about not realizing how serious it is. it took someone actually dicussing it with me for it to become serious. i know realize that, praise God. if you need to talk to anyone, you are more than welcome to pm or talk to me anytime. i'm glad you're seeing a counsellor! that's awesome. keep doing that because it's good to talk about things. it's healthy.

Seeing a counsellor is always a great first step, but can be unsettling initially..
Make sure you tell her how you found the session next time you see her, it'll help her put things at the right level for you, so the sessions won't feel so stressful.
for you, that things start to improve and praying for your exams too.
