Hi I read about this website on another website and thought I'd come for a visit.. I have a question to ask anybody who will answer that I am really bothered by.. My dog was diagnosed with diabeties a few weeks ago and her vet never said anything about her needing insulin shots.. He just put her on a special kind of dog food, gave her some treats and told me that she could only have the food that he gave her and only those, if we found any diabetic food for dogs that I wanted to get her that I should call him and get his ok first.. I have looked all over the internet, asked a few people and still haven't gotten an answer to why she doesn't need insulin shots...
Do any of you all know why.. This is really bothering me.. Is her insulin level not low enough for her to need insulin or is there a certain type of diabetes that doesn't need insulin.. I'm really confused and need an answer.. I'm kinda worried about her and wondering if he made a mistake and forgot to tell me.. But he had about 3 nurses with him when he told me so I'm sure one of them would of caught it if he missed it.. Any answers would be greatly appreciated..
