Help with Sons Concentration!!!!!

Hi!
My son has big problems with concetration.He has a real problem in Maths,his report had all D's(He is capable of doing the work).I had to sit in his class to see how he behaved(not well)He wouldn't do the work even with me there!
Has anyone else come up against this,and what helped you and your child?
(Because at the moment it feels like I am the only one)

He's 9 he has said it's boring, but asking him to do count things ect when we are doing shopping he has no problem with.

Have you tried a reward system for your son?
I.E a sticker chart , I do this wth my little girl as she has problems concentrating with homework, although she will read every book she can find.
If she gets so many stickers in a day then she gets a little reward, or she can save up her points until the end of the week and get a reward of her choice.

His class Teacher does this but his Maths Teacher doesn't as He says that you don't always get rewarded in "real life". I do it at home for chores home work ect....

That sorta leads me to wonder if'n he truely is jes bored, you figure the work he's been gettin is jes on th side of bein to easy? I've seen that one mysef before a kid starts screwin up an you know their smart as a whip an it comes down to they aren't bein challenged enough. Thought bout after school either expandin on the lesson he was given or introuduce some newer material?

No the work is ok he does have to think about what the questions are.But he won't write anything down.(no problem with reading words or writing words but doesn't like writing down numbers?!)
He had two good days in maths last week!!!
