Mayhem shear mayhem!
Just Kidding.

At our service we sing hymns, pray, ussually say the Creed or have some sort of scriptural responsive reading, have a time of corporate confession, sing another hymn then our Pastor preaches an expository sermon, we then sing another hymn and close with a blessing and the doxology.

pretty common order of worship
Very nice. I almost felt like I was reading one of our bulletins. I also noticed that your Children's Worship cut off age is 1st grade. Ours is as well. That is a difference between us and most churches that I always point out to ppl who are visiting or wondering about our service. We've had families visiting send their 11 and 12 year olds out when we dismiss the children.

It is possible to give several very specific replys to the question, if we knew which Presbyterian group you mean.

There is something called the "regulative principle of worship" which is held in a strict form by groups that follow older Presbyterian practice (as does the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America), in a looser form by some others, and not at all by broad evangelical or liberal groups using the name Presbyterian.

Those following the regulative principle hold that we may only worship God in the way that God has commanded. This is generally taken to forbid the use of hymns, musical instruments, and various liturgical performances. So what you would find in such a church would be Bible reading, prayers, psalm singing, and a sermon. The traditional old Presbyterian idea was communion quarterly. Some people offer a theological argument for this, though it seems due to circumstances in Scotland in times past.

The great majority of Presbyterian churches do not follow the regulative principle strictly, if at all. So in fact walking into a church called Presbyterian, you could find just about anything, depeding on the one you pick.

I think "Presbyterian" needs to be defined better. A PCA church, for instance, will have an expository sermon, a PCUSA church will have a thematic/topical sermon...

there are also some doctrinal differences, however I haven't done much research to proclaim myself an expert ;)

here's the bulletins of the church that I attend (PCUSA)
http://fourthchurch.org/sundayworship.html

I attend the vespers service, a little less formal, and communion is done weekly by intinction (dipping the bread into a cup of juice), at the morning service they do communion on the first sunday of even numbered months (so the bulletin says ;) )
