I am newbie here and I am looking for someone who would like to help me get a handle on this new camera that I bought. It is a sony alpha 33 digital slt camera. It would be great to link up with someone who has the camera so they can help me understand how to use it or someone who has the camera and is still working on all the details on how to work it..thanks for any help!!

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there. I don't have that camera but have recently upgraded mine. I'm an old slr professional, but have played with digital basics for a while. I'm rusty but I expect to snap to pretty soon, once I really begin to play with my new EOS T3i.
Did you buy yours used, so you don't have the software or instruction manual? Is it the A-33?
That would be a 14.2 mp with a minolta mount and a 3" LCD viewer. It has a phase-detect auto focus that you can shoot up to 7 frames per second (good thing it's not running through film!
