Okay, so I'm making a quilt for my mom. This is my first time doing applique and I'm using Stitch Witchery (fusable web) to bond the appliques to the quilt bocks. Well, I THINK I'm doing it right (at least the appliques are sticking), but now I've got yucky web stuff on my iron and it's not sliding smoothly the way I need it to now. Grrrr.

So, is there a way to clean the web stuff off my iron? Please help.

I found on google that removing unwanted spots of web on fabric is done by placing scrap fabric over the spot and superheating the iron to get it to re-fuse onto the scrap. Perhaps the same can be done with the iron if it is put on a high setting, and held to the scrap fabric for a little bit.

I'd link you to my source, but I don't yet have the post count to do so. I hope you figure it out.
