  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey there- I was just wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions for Chrsitian artists. I like anything from pop, rock to gospel. I'm listening to ppl like ZOEGirl, Superchick, Newswboys, David Crowder Band, Tait, Tree63.
I got turned around by Bethany Hamilton. I used to listen to stuff like:
Greenday
Simple Plan
I feel so much better now that I'm lsitening to better music. I just need help finding new artists.
Thanks!

Check out Todd Agnew sometime... not quite pop, not quite praise, but still quite good.

As for other artists... Rebecca St. James comes to mind, some older Plumb, Miss Angie if you can find it, DC Talk's Jesus Freak CD (I'm not much for their other work), Toby Mac, Stacie Orrico--I'd highly recommend Spoken's CD A Moment of Imperfect Clarity.

There are a fair amount of pop-punk bands like Green Day and Simple Plan on Tooth and Nail Records. www.toothandnail.com

Most of them sound pretty similar. Try listening to some of the bands songs and see if anything strikes your fancy.

You may also like Relient K. They certainly took a fair amount of influence from Green Day.

House of Heroes is really good. They have a new album out now on Gotee Records that is fantastic. www.gotee.com
