Even though it was explained to me by a priest, I don't remember how to use the guide in the beginning to understand what to read on a given day. I searched the Internet and found some articles about Book of Common Prayer, but nothing that simply told me what to do on a given day, assuming one doesn't know the reference points for second day of this or that. Does anyone know of such a guide?

In the BCP, if you want to see what a Sunday's readings will be, you need to know which of the 3 years it is. We just started Year A, with this being the 2nd Sunday of Advent (p. 889 in the BCP). The Daily Office readings are on a 2 year cycle, and we just started Year 2 (p. 937 in the BCP).
