Help Very Frustrated

hey,
I really miss you guys and i came back because i need some help. i have become very frustrated because i am trying to witness to a skeptic and everything i say he hasa a good comeback and i am not even sure if God wants me to witness to him anymore and the past few times i have tried to witness it has blown up in my face totally and i am also witnessing to a girl at my school and my witnessing to her has also failed and witnessing to my parents even failed and now when i read the bible i get nothing out of it.

Hi Kiddo...it is simple, you are trying too hard...you are doing the right thing by reading your bible, the answers are all there, but you see people will NOT listen until they are at a point in their lives when they are ready to listen. We all evolve at our own pace, and I have learned the hard way that witnessing will indeed backfire if they are closed to the idea. You can direct them towards God, but if their hearts are closed off right now, then there is nothing you can do. You could talk everyday until you are blue in the face and that still would not work. All you can do is pray for them, pray that they may open up their hearts to the prospect of God, and the rest will follow. You can say to them "when you are ready, I am here" that is the best approach. More often than not, people tend to get defensive when you share beliefs that they don't have...it's all how you approach it. I know that you want to save as many people as you can, and I commend you for you efforts, but lets just offer it up and see what happens. God will help guide you. I am here for you kiddo, you know that. I am here always to try to help you. I am praying for and with you with everything I have. I love you.

I'm glad you came back to ask for prayers. I know how frustrating it can be trying to be a good witness. But as amie said, the best thing to do is pray. That is something we can always do, for any situation, and no one can stop us.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:14-15 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

Maybe it's time to shake the dust from your feet? Pray for this person and lift them up to God because ONLY HE can fix this problem.

Yes I agree I must confess I do that a hole lot. That is a bad thing in which we both know and a good thing because it shows the willing ness and fire that God gives us and the loyalty and love we have for him!

Words are easily thwarted my friend. The best you can do is be a good christian and live by example. When people see that you are a brilliant, happy, friendly, likeable person... they will wonder why and that's when you can tell them. Don't witness to this person, be this persons friend and then you can make a real impact.

Such a well learned skeptic with a good argument. Well realize there is a reason for that, he must have thought deep and hard about his reasons for being skeptic. Be interested in those. Remember there are a lot of christians out there, but not all of them are good christians, perse. Sometimes I think our worst enemy is ourselves. I don't mean to diss any other christians out there, but God's Love provides for a vast array of people, sometimes God's people are not so understanding. So be understanding and friendly, and after that who would not want to listen to what you have to say.

Godsgurl4ever2006, thanks for your post....

Firstly, let me say that you can be sure that God wants you to witness - that's one thing that you can be sure is ALWAYS in the will of God, so carry on. It's the enemy who is trying to stop you witnessing through discouragement - so that should tell you something - you must be having an effect!!
So keep on witnessing...

Let me share with you a couple of things that God told me whilst witnessing.....

1. One day I had a poor day witnessing, everything seemed to go wrong, then whilst on my way back home, I was talking to God telling Him that I was sorry that I hadn't been as effective I had been in the past, that nothing seemed to go right.... Then, God pulled me up in my tracks and spoke very clearly, He said "You cannot say that, you don't know the effect that your words have had on those people's lives. You speak the words and it is my responsibility to change their hearts. You do your bit and I'll do mine" . I was bowled over by that, encouraged, and I learnt NEVER to think that my words have no effect - you speak the words, then God takes over.

2.I was asking God one day when I would see the fruit of all the witnessing I had been doing, and God clearly said to me "You have no right to ask to see the fruit, I called you to sow, just be obedient in your sowing" I learnt that we are called to obey and speak the word - that's all. If we see the fruit of our labours, then that's by the grace of God. we have no "right" to see the fruit, we must simply trust that God will do His part.

So don't be discouraged - trust God, just go on witnessing no matter how effective (or ineffective) you think you might be....

Once again, I agree with everyone in here..I think you are just maybe trying to hard. I think with everyone's prayers in here, including yours, the people your witnessing to, will "see the light" if you will, and they wont have combacks to your every word you say about our most Awesome God!

How can we witness to someone, unless God gives us the words to speak to them. We can only speak to their ears what God is speaking to their heart. He will guide us and lead us and show us what to say to them.
