Help Save a Marine Sargent

I was passing by and found these forums........
My best friend John is a Drill instructor for the Marines.
I have praying for him for a long time in desparation for his salvation.
He is hard core MARINE! with a great (hidden) heart. I am thinking about getting some kind of Christian Marine book for him. Does anyone have any suggestions???

my paster was a MARINE so i'll ask him if he has any suggestions.God bless you for caring about him.ill pray for you and him.i know three people who arent christions who are im the army and i pray for them daily.but plz remeber God is the God of imposibil feats.he loves you and your friend.and sometimes you just need to tell someone that.remember this also you are the only bible some people will read.God bless.

While the book I'm recommending is not about the Corps, if your friend does read a bit - and being a DI he may not have an opportunity to read very often - Wild At Heart by John Eldredge is one of the best reads I've had in a bit. And, I read quite a bit. Your buddy may be put off about reading a "Christian" book but if he'll give it a chance I believe he could really relate to it.

orah and Semper Fi to Gunny and Eric from a Lance Cpl just hitting the fleet! Mary, as for your friend the DI… Senior DI’s will go to church with their recruits twice -- once on their first Sunday together, and once on their last Sunday together. The other DI’s will attend the last session of church. I don’t know of any books, but my advice to you is to pray that one of the services manages to really touch him. If he’s on the east coast, I know they sing a lot of contemporary Christian music in church. Those songs can be fun or deeply moving, just depending on the selection. Be sure to plant the seed -- your heart is definitely in the right place. Maybe you could find out if they make devotionals for those in the military. They should… I just don’t know of any. That might be a little less intimidating than a book, because in agreeance, DI’s really don’t have much time to read. I’ll pray for you tonight, Mary, and your friend John. God bless you both. Wow, I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread. I'm a retired Marine MSgt, served more than 21 years and my 20 yr old son is currently serving in Baghdad. Unfortunately I didn't raise my children to know the Lord and I've been trying to correct that. I'm going to look for *A Table in the Presence* to send in his next package.

"Point Man" by Steve Farrar is a Christian book written by a former Marine about how to be a Godly man as it relates to family, I thought it a good read. I'm a former Marine and Army Guard Sergeant myself-even sargents manage to misspell rank to my petty annoyance sometimes. God changes hearts and I pray he helps your friend who's a DI and the rest of those who find themselves in harms way protecting America.

I just found *A Table in the Presence* and somehow mistakenly ordered two of them. I'm sure it was because God wanted me to bless another young Marine in Baghdad!
