My aunt keeps misquoting a verse from the bible and I've been looking for the verse for quite a while now and can't seem to find it... it has something to do with giving without the expectation of ever receiving anything in return... the Bible verses is along the lines of if your neighbor asked to borrow loaf of bread you're to give... I know this isn't a part of it but the way she quotes it is but if you need a loaf of bread and that neighbor denies you your to never help that neighbor again...

I know we're suppose to help and to give without receiving anything in return and not to secure help in the future... (i.e. only helping those that may have something we may want...

Luke 6:34-36New King James Version (NKJV)
34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

Okay, this is addressed by Luke 6:32-33 and Matthew 5:46 courtesy of a "what thank have ye" search in google.

That's close to it but not the one I believe she tends to misquote... However I can't say for sure there is even a verse any closer then the one you posted... Here's how she'll say it to us see if it helps find anything else...

If your neighbor comes to you hungry and ask for a loaf of bread give it to them but in your time of need if you go to your neighbor and ask for that loaf of bread back and they deny you if they ever ask for your help again you are tuned deny them and never help them again...

This is the way she quotes to us especially because yes she has helped a lot of people in the family but if we don't help her to what she feels is appropriate she quotes this to us...

???????
PROVERBS.25: = If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.
.

ROMANS.12: =
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”[Prov.25:21]

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Believers are not to resist their powerful persecutors/prosecutors, eg the liberal part of the US government, your employers, etc. Be patient and let God deal with them, even if the believers have to suffer martyrdom, eg await the 2nd Coming of Lord/God Jesus Christ.

During the apostles' time, it was the Jewish Temple authorities who persecuted/prosecuted them as Jewish heretics, eg ACTS.21. In 70AD, the Jewish persecutors and their Holy Temple of Jerusalem were massacred and destroyed by the Roman Army for mounting armed rebellion to seek national independence.(as prophesied at LUKE.21:20, MATTHEW.24:15 & 24) This was God's vengeance.

Other than that, believers are to live the rest of their lives on earth according to His Law or Moses Law, either partially(= ACTS.15:28 for Gentile Christians) or fully(= for Jewish Christians), eg "You shall love your neighbor/friend as yourself and hate your enemy", "You shall not murder", "You shall not commit adultery", "You shall not steal", etc = they will be blessed by God with a good and long life on earth; and because they believe/trust in Jesus the Christ/Messiah, they will be further blessed by God with being saved from hell when they die = inherit the kingdom of heaven/God.
.
.
At MATTHEW.5:17-48, Jesus Christ was telling the Jews and Pharisees that if they continued to reject Him as their Messiah/Christ but still wanted to be saved from hell when they die, they would have to pluck out their eyes and chop off their limbs, love their enemies, turn the other cheek, walk the extra mile, lend to all who ask and refrain from getting angry or hateful or lustful or selfish or greedy or jealous or fearful/worried or doubtful or etc in their hearts. This meant that all of mankind are bound for hell when they die. Why.? = because they have been born with Adam's Original Sin(as per ROMANS.5:12) which needs to be atoned with the blood of Christ(as per LEV.17:11 and HEBREWS.9:22) before they can be saved from hell when they die.

The Jews today still falsely believe that they will be saved from hell when they die(= go to heaven) by just believing in God and keeping His Law as much as possible.(cf; GALATIANS.2:16) Similarly for the Muslims = Allah and Sharia Law.
