  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't want to flunk out, but I am having trouble and and and.................... It's scaring me. I am almost a senior, I don't wanna get kicked out I like it here!!!!

Don't get freeked out, We don't want anyone freeking out in here....

Here are some steps I use:
Just spent the next semester focusing on your education,
limit going out to 1 or 2 times a week,
set aside study time and stick to it no matter what happens,
Improve your living situation so you are more comfortable studying.
Have some form of stress relief, whether it be sport, exercise, movies, painting, singing what ever.....
Control you stress by identifying when things are going of the rails.
don't focus on your GPA just work on the assesment needed to boost it..

That and maintain your quiet time with the Lord to keep your focus in the right areas of life.

Be positive some of the greatest people in the world, failed at uni, then succeeded in life.

Take the advice of sledger24...it's wise.

BTW...I had one semester where my GPA was 1.8. I'm 51 now...I worked hard the next semester and in the long run, that 1.8 GPA taught me a lot.

Now you have to make some major changes. Don't look at anyone or anything else or try to make excuses. Just change the way you are doing things. Spend more time studying. Force yourself to concentrate. Drop the things that cause your GPA to fall and focus on things that will improve it. Do the best with the time your have left.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you are, except my problem is that I have a sleeping disorder that caused me to miss at least half of last semester, and I ended with a 1.75... this semester that sleeping isn't as much of a problem, but I am taking three classes and I need a B in at least one of those two classes to get that up, and I am on the border line of C and B in two of them... so I am pretty stressed. I get suspended if I don't get it up, but I will plan to appeal if it does happen.

I will be praying for you sister. Maybe you can talk to your teachers so you can do some extra credit to help your grades. It sounds like you are having a hard time. Remember that no problem is too big for Jesus to handle. Pray and ask God to help you in this situation. He knows our needs. You do not receive because you do not ask. Remain faithful and try not to worry too much. Your life is in his hands. :amen: He has a plan for your life and he will get you through this semester. Trust in him and try to hang out with the right crowd at school. God will direct your steps. God bless!

I had a medical excuse to miss my exams last semester but they still put me on academic probation. (I was hospitalized) Anyways, I was ready to write my exams when I went back in January and I was able to write 3 in like Feb/March but there are still 2 that have never been scheduled. I did fine last semester and I don't think I should have been on academic probation.
This semester I went through a serious withdrawal from medication I stopped taking (I was misdiagnosed) and I didn't do my term papers. I was able to get extension on one of them so I wrote it. Anyway, if I get 100% on my exams I am still going to fail and I really want to come back in September.
I really need some prayer!

last semester, my gpa was 0.98. i didn't care then and i don't care now. my cumulative is 2.3 or 2.4. i have a year to go. my goal is to just pass. i lead a very fun life otherwise. you have to figure out what career you want before you can choose to "just get the degree" as opposed to working hard for it. ;)
